Nicholas Byram according to family tradition, was son of an English gentleman of the county of Kent, who re- moved to Ireland about the time this son was born .- His father sent him at the age of 16 to visit his friends in Eng. in charge of a man, who betrayed his trust, robbed him of his money, and sent him to the West Indies, where he was sold to service to pay his passage, and after his term expired he made his way to New- England and settled at Weymouth .- He m. 16. Ichabod (s. of Recompence 9.) m. Hannah, D. of Joseph Gannett, 1741, and had Seth 1747, Ichabod 1749, Aaron 1751, Joshua 1753, Zenas 1755, Hannah 1758, Mary 1761, Daniel 1762, Ebenezer 1765. This family went to Chesterfield, but returned, and most of them went into Bristol County. Hannah m. a Coloph of Sharon, one of Burgoyne's army.
17. Col. Simeon (s. of Recompence 9.) m. Mary, D. of Daniel Howard Esq. 1754, and had Molly 1755, Mehitabel 1757, How- ard 1760, Martha 1765, Rhoda 1772 .- Molly m. Simeon Keith 1775 .- Mehitabel m. The rest of the family went to Brookfield and Ward, in Worcester County.

Mary, D. of Captain Moses Curtis of Stoughton, 1747, and had Moses 1748, Dorothy 1752, Jonathan 1757, Alpheus 1761, Sarah 1763, James 1766 .- Dorothy not m .- Alpheus m. Ruby, D. of Jonathan Per- kins, 1786, and lived and died in Quincy, leaving a son Alpheus in Boston who m. Deborah Thayer and had Alpheus 1827 .- Sa- rah m. 20. Henry (s. of John 10.) m. Martha, D. of Dr. Joseph By- ram, 1749, and had Benjamin 1750*, killed under a water wheel ; Eunice 1758, Benjamin 1761. He died and she m. Abner Pratt 1764 .- Eunice m. Wm. Snell of S. B. 1781.
