1. GEORGE, and his bro. John, came from East Greenwich, in Kent, Eng., arriving in America ab. 1633 (some accounts say between 1633 and 1636). According to Deane's History, George was one of those

who were dismissed from Plymouth Church in 1634, "in case they join in a body at Scituate." He was by occupation "clothier," and resided at Scit. until ab. 1640, when he removed with Rev. Mr. Loth- rop and others to Barnstable. He d. at Barnstable, intestate, 1662. His w., whom he m. in Eng., was Sarah Jenkins. Of their ch., James 2 m. Sarah Lane, and it is in this line that all the Lewises in Hing. have descended.
