Whereas wee the subscribers was apointed by the selectmen of Lyn to Run the Line or setle the bounds betwixt the town Common and a ten acre Lott, formerly Mr Handfords wee met with Ens John Newhall Whoe Joyned with Vs January the : 9th 1698-9 Wee began at the at the Norwest Corner of said Lott Where stands a white oake tree Marked by a Little brushey pond betwixt the town Common and the sd Lott formerly Mr Handfords from thence on a streight Line to a horn beame tree marked which is the Northeast Corner from thence on a streight Line to the southeast Corner whear stands a white oake tree Marked with a heape of stones aboute it by the side of a hill

Wee Whose Names are hereunto subscribed haue this Day perambulated the bounds betwixt ye towns of Salem & Lynn as followeth : begining at a heap of stones be hind ye woddow Jones wt a stake and from thence aboute norwest to another heap of stones, so from one station to another while we came to ye brink of ye hill by ye Edge of ye pond Called Humphries pond and so to ye Iseland in sd pond, and from thence to ye place where ye water Runs oute of ye pond at ye norwest Corner and from thence to a heape of stones on ye Ridge of a hill in sight of sd pond and from thence from station to station being heaps of stones to a pine tree Lying on the ground Caled the seuen-mens bounds, and from thence to a pine tree growing with stones at ye Roote formerly marked with six
