NOTE .- On reference to the foregoing exhibit of the doings of the town for the last financial year, no one will fail to observe the entire omission of any statement of the County Tax in its disbursements. The Collector, it is under- stood, assumes that he has the control of this matter, and that its payment, in no wise, belongs to the Treasurer of the Town. Now, while the present Col- lector remains in office, the town may not suffer by leaving this matter to him ; yet, as a rule, the Auditors believe it had better not be followed, and they recommend, in future, that all moneys collected be paid directly to the Treas- urer, who is, and ought to be, the only disbursing officer of the town's money. They advise action in this matter at the next meeting of the town.
