6 .- Because it depends entirely upon its intrinsic merit to give satisfaction, makes no false pretenses, and can give facts and figures for every statement it makes in the legitimate prosecution of its business.
7 .- Because it has over Fifteen Thousand Subscribers, representing the most honored and respectable houses in the United States, British Provinces, and in England, Ireland, Scotland and France, having offices in each country.
S .- It has thousands of the most flattering testimonials from the best firms in every city in the Union, testifying to its efficiency, promptitude and reliability, for, in many cases, a connection of twenty-five or thirty years. No other agency has such a record. These testimonials are published by us in book form, and may be had upon application.
9 .- Because every one selling goods on credit, or doing business in which the respon- sibility of others enters into their chances of profit and loss, can better afford to subscribe than to do without the Agency. It has so many subscribers among conservative, prudent dealers, who desire to do a careful business among safe customers, that those who do not subscribe are the ones who are most likely to sell to irresponsible traders, who are refused credit by our subscribers.
10 .- Because any careful, shrewd business man is willing and glad to pay for a means which not only reduces the liability to make bad debts to a minimum, but which at the same time enables him to increase the number of desirable customers. It is not a luxury, and it is only false economy that regards it as such.
11 .- It pays to subscribe to the Agency, as it furnishes a never failing medium to smooth and facilitate all business transactions, make prompt and discreet decisions upon applications for credit, fill orders promptly and generally safely, and to make money.
12. - We head this Circular with the motto "Success is the Best Criterion," and point to the fact that we have opened, in important centres of trade, Sixteen Branch Offices within the past two years, as proof of our success. This one fact alone speaks volumes in favor of The Mercantile Agency, a record so brilliant being a sure criterion.
COLLECTION DEPARTMENT
-OF-
The
Mercantile
Agency,
R. G. DUN & CO.
We beg leave to call the attention of the Mercun- tile Community to
OUR COLLECTION DEPARTMENT,
which is acknowledged the most extensive and efficient system ever established for the prompt adjustment of past due claims. In connection with every office we have this department in full opera- tion, all acting in concert.
In every city and village of the country we have the services secured of a Responsible and Reliable Attorney, who receive from us so great a number of claims, that it becomes their common ob- ject to retain our business by a Moderate Commission and Speedy Settlement. For the Collection of Debts and the Furnishing of Reliable Information, we possess Facilities that are Unequaled, and which en- able us, confidently, to ask the support and patron- age of the Mercantile Community.
