CENSUS OF CAMBRIDGE.
Th census of Cambridge taken in 1855, under the direction of T. B. Bigelow, Esq., exhibits the following results : -

The whole number of inhabitants is, - - 20,473

The above shows an increase of 33 per cent. since 1850. At that time all the students connected with the different departments of the University were enumerated, but except such as belong to this city, are now omitted. If they were added, it would show a population of 21,- 000, or an increase of 40 per cent.
