RECORD OF PUBLISHMENTS AND MARRIAGES.
1815-
The third volume of records is not paged. Each entry was formally attested by the town clerk, and the certified returns annually received from justices and clergymen were copied in full - commonly following the form of the marriage and publishment certificates first given below. The notices of marriage inten- tions being usually supplemented within a month by registry of the marriage, those publishments only are here printed which are not followed by a marriage certificate, or which contain information not in the certificate. The following is an accurate transcript of all essential facts in the record, leaving out verbiage. By collation with the original memoranda kept by the Reverends Messrs. Thayer, Sears and Packard, sundry omissions have been made good, and errors noted.
