TOWN OF MERRIMAC

The opening day 125 children were registered. This tapered down to an average of 65 through the hot weather enlarging toward the end of the season.

At the end of the season two buses were donated by the Lions Club and took children to the State Park at Salisbury Beach for the day. Picnic lunch was taken, games were enjoyed etc., and a good time was had by all.

A new ladder bar and long slide was installed in the play area by the Lions Club, and proved to be very popular. The grounds were kept mowed and in fine con- dition by Mr. Gilmore.

We at this time wish to thank the towns people for their interest, the School Committee for use of the school facilities for supervised play, and the Lions Club for their financial aid to make the project possible.

Respectfully submitted, ALEXANDER SULLIVAN, Chairman
