Milford, October 20, 1943
To either Constable of the Town of Milford in said County
Greetings:
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Milford, qualified by law to vote in Town Affairs, to meet in the Town Hall, in said Town on Wednesday, the twentieth of October A. D. 1943, at 8 o'clock in the eve- ning, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds the sum of One thousand ($1,000.00) dollars to the Soldiers' Relief Account, or take any action. in relation thereto.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds the sum of One hundred forty-two dollars ($142.20) and twenty cents to the Town Clerk's Department Expense Account, or take any action in rela- tion thereto.

Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds the sum of Three hundred twenty ($320.00) dollars to the Election and Registrations Salaries Account, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of Four hundred forty-five dollars ($445.19) and nineteen cents to the Workmen's Compensation and Pub- lic Liability Insurance Account, or take any action in rela- tion thereto.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the appropriation of 1943 for Old Age Assistance in the Department of Public Welfare the sum of Three thousand five hundred ($3500.00) dollars to the Aid to De- pendent Children Account, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the appropriation of 1943 for Old Age Assistance in the Department of Public Welfare the sum of Eight hun- dred ($800.) dollars to the General Aid Account, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds the sum of Five hundred ($500.) dol- lars for use by the Board of Selectmen in repairing the foundation of the Town Hall Building, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of One hundred eighty-five dollars ($185.26) and twenty-six cents from the General Appropriation in the Library Expense Account to the Wages and Salary Ac- count, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds the sum of Thirty-one dollars ($31.24) and twenty-four cents to the Library Wages and Salary Account, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the General Appropriation in the Board of Health the sum of Three hundred twenty-five ($325.00) dollars to the Salary and Wages Account in said Department, or take any action in relation thereto.

Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to ap- propriate from available funds under the Excess and Deficiency Account Twelve hundred dollars ($1200.00) to the Milford Athletic Field Committee, to be spent under the supervision of the Board of Selectmen, for the pur- chase of steel frame bleachers for the Milford Athletic Field, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to ap- propriate from available funds the sum of Three hun- dred ($300.) dollars for removal of brush to be spent un- der the jurisdiction of the Tree Warden, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to ap- propriate from available funds the sum of Four hundred seventy-one dollars ($471.) to the Tax Collector's Depart- ment for purpose of paying a bill incurred in 1942 for services rendered by a Deputy Tax Collector, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to close out the following unexpended balances of Special Appro- priations there being no further liabilities outstanding against them: Alterations to Town Hall Building $78.88; Heating Unit Conversion-Memorial Hall $.69; Sewer Construction -. Cemetery Street $410.04; Sewer Construc- tion - Beach Street $142.43; Sewer Construction - Blanchard Road $59.41; Sewer Construction - Church Hill Street $187.40; Completion of Fountain Street Project $4.80; Final Court Judgment $225.00 and Erection of Honor Roll $1.00, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to ap- propriate a sum of money from available funds for use by the Board of Selectmen for painting and repairing the Memorial Hall Building, or take any action in relation thereto.
And you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant by publishing at least seven days before said meeting an at- tested copy of this warrant in the Milford Daily News, a newspaper published and having a general circulation in

the Town of Milford, and by posting at least seven days before said meeting, attested copies of this Warrant in five. or more public places located in said Milford.

At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Milford qualified by law to vote in Town Affairs, held this 20th day of October A. D. 1943, the said inhabitants pro- ceeded as follows:
The meeting was called to order by Town Clerk Catherine L. Coyne during the absence of the Moderator.
The Monitors checked the names of the Town Meet- ing Members and there were only 91 present, not a suf- ficient number to constitute a quorum so the meeting was adjourned until November 1st, 1943.

Milford, November 1, 1943.
The adjourned meeting was called to order by the Town Clerk at 8 o'clock P.M. and the inhabitants of the Town of Milford, qualified by law to vote in Town Affairs proceeded as follows:
The Monitors checked the names of the Town Meet- ing Members and 103 being present not enough to consti- tute a quorum a recess of fifteen minutes was declared.

Upon the second check 122 members being present enough to constitute a quorum the meeting was opened.
During the absence of the Moderator the Clerk called for nominations for a Moderator Pro Tem and William A. Murray, Sr. and John F. Curran were nominated. Nom- inations were closed and a ballot vote being requested was voted upon. The Monitors secured blanks from the Clerk and Miss Gertrude A. Wallace, Dr. N. J. Capece and George F. Grayson were appointed by the Clerk to count the ballots.
After the Monitors checked off the members in their respective precincts as they deposited their ballot the counters proceeded to fullfil their duty. The announce- ment by the Clerk as to the result was as follows: William A. Murray, Sr. 67, John F. Curran 50 and 1 blank. The choice was made unanimous on motion made by Mr. James Birmingham.
Mr. Murray having secured the most votes was sworn in by the Town Clerk as Moderator Pro Tem and took the chair.
The Moderator Pro Tem appointed the following committee to draw up a set of Resolutions upon the death of Angelo Barbadoro from Precinct 2, the request for same being made by Mr. John F. Maher from Precinct 1: Dr. N. J. Capece, John F. Maher, Joseph Morcone, Guido Saba- tinelli, William W. O'Brien and Mrs. Eleanor M. Prouty.
The Town Clerk read the warrant and the Officer's return thereon.
Article 1. Voted: That the Town appropriate from available funds the sum of One thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to the Soldiers' Relief Account.
Voted: To pass over the remainder of the article.
Article 2. Voted: That the Town appropriate from available funds the sum of One hundred forty-two dollars and twenty cents ($142.20) to the Town Clerk's Depart- ment Expense Account.
