Article 18. Motion was defeated.
Article 19. I move that the town vote to amend Paragraph #2 of Article 27 as voted at the Annual Town Meeting held on March 15th, 1950, by striking out the said Paragraph #2 and inserting therein the following . paragraph:

The meeting was called to order by Moderator Cur- ran at 8:00 P. M. The Monitors checked the lists and 155 persons were present, a sufficient number to constitute a quorum.
Article 32. Voted: That the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twelve thousand ($12,000.00) dollars for the piping of the surface water drainage from Sumner Street to Cedar Swamp Pond between the proper- ties of Stylon Corp., and the Milford Industrial Park De- velopment.
Article 33. Voted: To pass over the Article.

It was moved and seconded that the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twelve thousand ($12,000.00) dollars for the acquisition, by gift, purchase or by eminent domain, of parts of certain parcels of land located on the southerly side and southwesterly side of Oliver Street, parcel #1 containing about 5 acres and more particularly described in deed of Cornelius J. Lynch, Paul E. Lynch, Claire D. Lynch, John C. Lynch and Dora I. Lynch to Rose A. Farese, dated April 12, 1951, recorded with Worcester Registry of Deeds, Book 3343, Pages 58-59; parcel #2 containing about 2 acres and more particularly described in deed of Vincenzo Farese to Maria G. Farese, dated May 23, 1935, recorded with said Deeds, Book 2640, Page 309. Said parcels of land to be used for the location of elementary school building facilities.

The Monitors, their Assistants and the Counters pre- pared for the written ballot. Result of the ballot showed 78 persons voted in the affirmative and 97 in the negative. The Moderator declared the motion as lost.
It was moved and seconded that the Elementary School Building Committee be discharged and that the body give them a vote of thanks for their effort and it was so voted.
A motion was made that the Moderator appoint a committee of 11 to study future needs of the Milford Schools.
It was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting to Monday at 8 P. M. The meeting adjourned at 11:35 P. M.

The Moderator called the meeting to order at 8:00 P. M. The Monitors checked the lists and 146 persons being present the business meeting proceeded.
The motion now before the body from the last meet-

ing was that the Moderator appoint a committee of 11 to study further the needs of the Milford Schools.
Mr. Donald Phillips arose on a point of order as to the Moderator's opinion at the last meeting wherein the Ele- mentary School Building Committee was discharged and he called the attention of the Moderator to the vote passed in 1955. The Moderator checked the 1955 records. The chair ruled that the action taken by the meeting wherein it was voted that the Elementary School Building Com- mittee be discharged, and that the body give them a vote of thanks for their effort, be declared null and void as of this moment.
Mr. Vesperi requested unanimous consent to with- draw his motion and it was so voted.

The whole loan shall be paid in not more than ten (10) years, or at such period as may be determined by the Treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen.

Pursuant to a warrant signed by the Selectmen of Milford, the inhabitants of the Town of Milford, qualified by law to vote in Primaries met in State Armory, in said town on Tuesday, the 24th day of April A. D. 1956 at 12 o'clock noon and the meeting was called to order by Michael P. Visconti, Chairman of the Selectmen, Presid- ing Election Officer.
The Town Clerk read the Warrant and the Officers return thereon. All legal requirements having been com- plied with, the business meeting was opened. The Town Clerk administered the oath to the election workers.
During the voting the ballot was opened at 3 P. M. when the box registered 203; it was opened again at 4:55 P. M. when it showed 363; it was opened at 5:40 P. M. when it registered 446 and at that time it was reported to have skipped; it was opened at 7:15 P. M. when it reg- istered 632 and at 8 P. M. when the final register showed 781. Actual count was 780.
The polls were declared closed at 8 P. M.
There were 650 Democratic Ballots and 130 Repub- lican Ballots cast making the total 780.
The result of the Democratic Ballot was announced at 11:15 P. M. and the result of the Republican Ballot was announced at 11:30 P. M. by the Town Clerk.
