Remarks;

Under items No. 2 and No. 3 the Finance Committee feels that the appropriation for maintenance as requested is too high so have recommended $1,600.00 instead of $2,110.00.

Under item No. 9 the committee made no recommen- dation and feel that a general discussion in Town Meeting is the better way to decide on the amounts to be appro- priated.

Under items No. 12 and No. 13 no recommendations were made by the committee as it seemed that a smaller appropriation could be made.

Under items No. 15 no action was taken at this time as this item did not appear on the budget.

Under items No. 16 the committee feels that Town Aid should be $2,000.00 instead of $2,300.00 and Old Age Pension should be $1,500.00 instead of $2,000.00.

Under item No. 20 the committee made no recom- mendation as the Trust Fund Commissioners stated that there is enough money in the treasury to take care of this item.

In the school budget the Finance Committee has made some lower recommendations, the total of which is $951.00, as it seems that some curtailment of expenses could be made at this time.

Report of Town Accountant

To the Board of Selectmen :

Gentlemen :- I herewith submit my report for 1930.

The report contains classified lists of the receipts and payments; a table showing the expenditures of ap- propriations and the unexpended balances; a balance sheet showing the financial condition at the end of the year ; a report of the Trust funds ; and a statement of the Town debt.

The accounts show a surplus for 1930, of $2,501.25. This will partly balance the expenditures made from the surplus of the two previous years. These expenditures amounted to $4,950.80. So that the net decrease of the total surplus is $2,449.55, leaving a balance of $17,153.37.

I wish to thank the members of your Board, and the other officials of the Town for their courtesy and assis- tance.

Respectfully submitted,

ROBERT H. LIFE,

Town Accountant.
