ANNUAL REPORT.
genial nature, and deeply interested in the mental and moral culture of the young. And surely as a citizen, neighbor and friend none was more esteemed, possessing the confidence of the community. In his death the town has lost a famous citizen. He was generous and unsel- fish, and the principles which he inculcated will live, though their brilliant exponent has fallen.
