ANNUAL REPORT

REPORT OF PLANNING BOARD

There were no sub-divisions in 1961 necessitating the construction of new roadways. A few parcels of land located on public ways were approved by the board.

The townspeople are reminded that the Registry of Deeds will not accept a new map or plot indicating a division or transfer of one or more parcels of land on a public or private way unless it has been signed by the duly authorized member of the Planning Board, and officially stamped with the words "Approval Under the Subdivision Control Law Not Required." It is also necessary that a "Form A," obtainable from the Planning Board, be filled out in duplicate. This will, among other things, indicate the book and page number of the deed. It is also desirable that two contact prints of the plot be filed with the Planning Board.

We have accepted with regret the resignation of Herbert C. Hutchings, Jr. We welcome the temporary appointment of Russell S. Bennett. Mr. Bennett is currently the delegate to the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Planning Board.

One member of our board has been active this year on the Berkley School Planning and Building Committee. Two other members have served on special committees of the newly formed Berkley Taxpayers Association.

The Planning Board wishes to thank Mr. Thomas Nelson for his donation of a fourteen drawer map cabinet. This has been a sorely needed item and it is hoped that our collection of prints will prove useful to the proposed tax equalization and town mapping program.

Respectfully submitted, STUART R. WATERFIELD,

Secretary
