shall apply, to be held and used as a public playground forever ; the taxes for 1911 on the property to be rebated as part of the consideration and the buildings on the property to be removed by Mr. Hollis without expense to the Town.


The Selectmen are authorized and empowered in behalf of the Town to arrange for the proper transfer to the Town of Braintree.


Voted that for the purpose of raising the $5,000 appropri- ated for the purchase of a public playground, the Town Treas- urer, with the approval of the Selectmen, is hereby authorized and directed to issue and sell $5,000 "Public Playground Bonds" of $500 each, dated July 1, 1911, and payable one a year on July 1st of each of the years 1912 to 1921 inclusive. Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of not to exceed 4 per cent. per annum, payable semi-annually. Any premium received from the sale of said bonds shall be applied to the payment of the principal of the bonds first maturing. None of said bonds shall be obligatory without the authenticating certificate of the Old Colony Trust Company of Boston, endorsed thereon. All other particulars as to the form, preparation, issuance and sale of said bonds shall be determined by the Treasurer and Selectmen.


Action on the foregoing motions was taken by yes and no ballot with the use of the check lists and the result determined by duly appointed tellers. Whole number of ballots cast 127, yes 114, no 13.

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Braintree, qualified to vote in Town affairs, to meet at the Jonas Perkins Hall in said Braintree, on Monday, the twenty-

eighth day of August, 1911, at 7.45 o'clock in the evening, to act on the following Articles, viz. :


Article 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


Art. 2. To see if the Town will vote to purchase a Combi- nation Chemical Hose and Engine Auto, and borrow and appro- priate a sum of money for the same.


Art. 3. To see if the Town will vote to accept the altera- tion of Pearl Street as made by the Selectmen.


Art. 4. To see if the Town will vote to extend the water system west on Union Street from its present termination to Edson Hill, so-called.


Art. 5. To see if the Town will vote to dispose of all or a part of what remains of the Town Hall.


Art. 6. To choose any committee the Town may think proper, or hear the report of any committee.


Art. 7. To see if the Town of Braintree for the purpose of procuring machinery for use in its Water Department and other- wise improving and extending its water supply, will vote to ex- pend the sum of $15,000 and to issue bonds to that amount as ' authorized by Chapter 598 of the Acts 1911.


You are to give notice of this meeting by posting true and attested copies of this warrant in not less than nine public places in this Town seven days at least before the time of said meeting and by publishing the same once in the Braintree Observer- Reporter and Braintree Bee.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk before the time of said meeting.

to order and read the warrant and also the official return of the same.


Article 1. By ballot, with the use of the check lists, Benja- min H. Woodsum, Jr., was elected Moderator and sworn by the Town Clerk.


Arts. 2 and 6. Voted that a Committee of five be appointed by the chair to investigate the cause of the destruction by fire of the Town Hall and enquire into the needs of the Fire Depart- - ment as to new equipment, costs of same and any matter per- taining to the perfecting of the Department. Moderator ap- pointed F. W. Couillard, H. W. Davenport, J. T. Kemp, Moses H. McGaugley, William J. Robbins, as the Com- mittee.


Art. 3. Indefinitely postponed.


Art. 4. Voted to refer this matter to the Water Board with instructions to report next Annual Meeting.


Art. 5. Voted to authorize the Selectmen to dispose of the remains of the Town Hall in the best possible. man- ner.


Art. 7. Voted that for the purpose of procuring machinery for use in its Water Department and for otherwise improving and extending its water supply as authorized by Chapter 598 of the Acts of 1911, the Town Treasurer be and hereby is authorized to issue bonds of the Town to an amount not exceeding $15,000, said bonds to be denominated on their face, "Town of Braintree Water Loan Act of 1911"; to bear interest at a rate not exceeding 41/2 per cent. per annum, payable $1,500 annually in each of the years 1912 to 1921 inclusive.


Said bonds shall be signed by the Treasurer of the Town and countersigned by the Water Commissioners.


Voted that the bonds with the accrued interest, as they become due, shall be paid from the revenue of the Water Depart- ment and not included in the tax levy.


Art. 6. Voted that the Selectmen be a Committee of three to receive plans for a new Town Hall, without expense to the Town, and report at next Annual Meeting.


Voted that this meeting adjourn sine die.

On Tuesday, the twenty-sixth day of September, 1911, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to bring in to the Wardens of their respective Precincts their votes on the official ballots for the nomination by each political party of a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Treasurer and Receiver General, Auditor of the Commonwealth, Attorney- General, Councillor, Senator, Representative in General Court, County Commissioner, Clerk of Court, Register of Deeds, and also for the election of District members of the State Committees, members of the Town Committees and Delegates to the State Conventions.


The polls will be kept open until 8 o'clock in the evening.


You are directed to serve this warrant by posting true and attested copies thereof in not less than three public places in each Precinct in said Town, and by publishing the same once in the Braintree Observer-Reporter and Braintree Bee.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Selectmen before the time of said Primaries.
