:
Of the total thirty-five persons reported missing, all have been located.
The department recovered property to the value of about $10,350.
I have recommended the purchase of one Ford Coach for night patrol duty in the outlying districts, and one Harley Davidson motorcycle in view of the fact that a new State Highway, Route 58, is being put through our town. Also in view of the fact that a project is being considered which if put through will increase the tra ..... c over Quincy Avenue, East Braintree. This project is the new bridge contemplated at Quincy Point.
I have recommended an appropriation to cover the appointment of three new patrolmen for the following purposes : one to relieve the motorcycle officer stationed at East Braintree from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m., one to relieve a sergeant so that he may do outside duty in Ford car asked for in 1930 budget, and one man to ride new motor- cycle asked for in budget.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank the officers of my department for their good work and untiring efforts in making a cleaner Braintree.
Respectfully submitted,
JOHN J. HEANEY,
Chief of Police.

REPORT OF PARK COMMISSION
French's Common
Not for over 25 years has there been so much activi- ties on French's Common as the season of 1929. Baseball has been played on these grounds every evening during the summer and on all holiday's. The grounds have been raked and put in condition every week. The town was represented by the best baseball team that has played here for that length of time. Very large crowds have wit- nessed these games also the Sunset League games. The Braintree High School girls have played their field hockey games here. The tennis court, while not as good as some, has been on the go during the summer. The playground activities were large and the records for attendance at these grounds were broken. A new wire fence was installed at the Tremont Street end. A cement walk into the grounds was also installed.
The Hollingsworth and the Washington Street Parks were raked over and while not much activities were on these two places, they were kept in fairly good condition. The State erected a wire fence inclosing the latter park.
Hollis Playground
The ground has been mowed and cleaned weekly. The bandstand and booth and ground were used weekly during the season for band concerts by Legion boys, the Hollis School. Also the High School used the field for all their sports. The Board of Health has filled in a large area this last year, so we have extended the ball field one hundred feet more.
229
Watson Park
This park has been kept in good condition all the season; it was raked and grass mowed every week. The base diamond and tennis court was cared for. A skating rink was installed and highly enjoyed by the children. The playground activities during the summer months were the best ever held since they were taken over by the town. Here the records were broken. More than 200 children enjoyed this part of the park than in previous years. The tennis court was in constant use all season. Several local firms enjoyed the baseball diamond. A drinking fountain has been installed and has been one of the best additions to the playground. The playground apparatus was highly enjoyed and was also kept in condition.
Commercial Street Playground
This park has been mowed and raked during the season. The children have enjoyed this park but it could not be cared for as the Park Board would have liked to have it on account of their appropriations.
A. F. HOLLIS, Chairman. J. N. RODGERS, Treasurer. W. C. MITCHELL, Secretary. Park Commissioners.
