Mr. Hollis moved, and it was so voted, that a letter of sympathy be sent the family of the late Michael J. Sulli- van, for years the janitor of the Town Hall.

On Monday, the twenty-fourth day of June, 1929, at seven forty-five o'clock in the evening, to act on the fol- lowing articles, namely :
Article 1. To hear and act upon the report of any committee and to choose any committee the Town may think proper.
Article 2. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the expenses of the Town Clerk's Department.

Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for Engineering.
Article 5. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purchase or taking by eminent domain for highway purposes of the land necessary for the construction of a road furnishing access to the Braintree Highlands School site, from Washington Street and from Liberty Street, comprising in part the land lying within the limits of Arbutus Avenue, Wildwood Avenue, Roulston Avenue, and Liberty Park Avenue, and otherwise over land of private owners, as shown on a plan of George H. Weatherbee, Jr., as amended by engineers under the direction of the Selectmen.
Article 6. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of the High- way Department, including salaries, repairs of highways, town ways and bridges; also, for repairs and building sidewalks, stone roads, removal of snow, oiling streets, drainage and purchase of equipment for said department.
Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the installation of a Police Signalling System, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 8. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to repair and rebuild Plain, . Grove and Columbian Streets from Cart Bridge, so-called, to the Weymouth Line, and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow all or any part of said sums in accordance with the provisions of law, authorizing the Town to borrow for such purposes, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the extension of the water

mains on Grove Street, from Plain Street to Columbian Street, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 10. To see what further sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construc- tion, furnishing and equipping of an addition to the Abra- ham Lincoln School, including repairs and necessary changes to the present structure, and to authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow all or any part of said sum, in accordance with any special act or general law authorizing the Town to borrow money for said purposes, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 11. ON PETITION. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a Town Way, TREFTON DRIVE, so- called, from Quincy Avenue to Argyle Street, so-called, as laid out by the Selectmen, and raise and appropriate a sum of money for the improvement of said way, to be ex- pended under the provisions of law authorizing the assess- ment of betterments, or otherwise.
You are directed to serve this warrant by posting true and attested copies thereof in three public places in each voting precinct in said Town of Braintree, ten days at least before said twenty-fourth day of June, 1929, and by publishing the same once each week for two successive weeks in the Braintree Observer and the Braintree Citi- zen, first publication to be at least eight days before said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
June 24, 1929.
The annual Town Meeting was called to order at 7.45 P. M., by Moderator Rogers.
Article 1. Mr. Aitken moved and it was voted to take up Article 1 in conjunction with other articles in the war- rant.
Article 2. No action.
Article 3. On motion of Mr. Fitzgerald, it was voted that this matter be referred to the Finance Committee for such action as they may see fit.
Article 4. On motion of Mr. Fitzgerald, this matter was indefinitely postponed.
Article 5. Voted, on motion of Mr. Aitken, that the Selectmen be authorized and instructed to purchase or take by eminent domain for highway purposes the land necessary for the construction of a road furnishing access to the Braintree Highlands School site, from Washington Street and from Liberty Street, comprising in part the land lying within the limits of Arbutus Avenue, Wildwood Avenue, Roulston Avenue, and Liberty Park Avenue, and otherwise over land of private owners, as shown on a plan of George H. Weatherbee, Jr., as amended by engineers under the direction of the Selectmen, and that the sum of $100.00 be raised and appropriated for this purpose.
Article 6. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $4,956.00 for three tractors and snowplows; for re- moval of snow, $4,112.59; for Sidewalk on Washington Street, 550 feet from Frederick Road, south, including moving of stone wall and removal of two trees, $1,044.00;

for removal of tree, iorner of Wynott Street and Washing- ton Street, $75.00; for salaries of employees of the High- way Department, $2,600.00.
Article 7. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $125.00 for the installation of street telephones for the Police Department.
Article 8. Referred to the next Annual Town Meet- ing.
Article 9. Voted that the sum of $13,661.31, plus ledge work, to be taken from the revenue of the Water Department, be appropriated for the extension of the water mains on Grove Street, from Plain Street to Colum- bian Street, providing that the Legislature or one or more political subdivisions carry out the plan of relocation of said street and commence said construction during the year 1929.
Article 10. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $17,000.00 for the construction, furnishing and equip- ping an addition to the Abraham Lincoln School, including repairs and necessary changes to the present structure.
Article 11. Voted to accept as a Town Way, Trefton Drive, so-called, from Quincy Avenue to Argyle Street, so-called, as laid out by the Selectmen and raise and ap- propriate the sum of $9,367.25 for the improvement of said way, which includes change in size and relocation of water mains, and that 66 2/3% betterments be assessed.
Article 12. Voted to adjourn, without date, at 10.40 P. M.
