ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TREE WARDEN
To the Citizens of the Town of Braintree, Mass. :
I herewith present the report of my department for the year 1937;
For general care of trees, appropriated and expended $300.00
The limited amount of the appropriation permitted a minimum of work on our trees. Only the most dan- gerous conditions were cared for including storm in- jured trees and those having large dead limbs over- hanging the public ways.
I was able through public utility programs to ob- tain much beneficial removal of dead wood from our trees without expense to this department.
With the adverse conditions that our trees have now they need more care than ever. I appeal to you to help me give them this care by protecting the roots and the trunks and with sufficient appropriations to care for the proper trimming out of dead wood.
Respectfully submitted,
CLARENCE R. BESTICK, Tree Warden Town of Braintree, Mass.
