$7,944 62
At the beginning of the town year, after two months trial with a Superintendent of Streets, we voted to carry on the work on a different plan. We added to the money already ap- propriated the amount of the excise tax on last years basis, which was $1,774.11 making a total of $7,774.11 and as our expenditures for the year have been $7,944 62 we would
56
over-run the appropriations by only $170 51 if the excise tax had not been reduced.
The teams have worked 297 days and have spread 3,772 loads of gravel and cinders.
With a mileage of over ninety-two miles of roads and only three good gravel banks to draw from, we feel that the money has been equally distributed.
EBEN T. ADAMS, JOHN J. DUNN, D. FRANK SMALL, CHARLES F. DEVINE, CHARLES LYONS,
