WARRANT FOR SPECIAL MEETING
At Upper Town Hall, Chelmsford Centre, Thursday Evening. September 20, 1928 COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
Midldlesex, ss .:
To John E. Johnson, a Constable of the Town of Chelmsford. GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid you are hereby re- quired to notify and warn the legal voters of said Chelmsford to meet in the upper Town Hall, at Chelmsford Centre, on Thursday, the 20th day of September current at seven-thirty 7.30 in the evening then and there to act upon the following Articles, viz. :
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to transfer to the Depart- ment of Outside Relief the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) from money appropriated at the Annual Town Meeting February 13. 1928, under Article 14, for the completion of the Acton Road, so-called; or act in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to transfer to the General Highway Department Fund the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) from the money appropriated at the Annual Town Meeting, February 13, 1928, under Article 14, for the completion of the con- struction of the Acton Road, so-called; or act in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the sum of money appropriated at the Annual Town Meeting held February 13, 1928, under Article 2 to defray Town charges, and specifically from the Police Department appropriation the sum of Eight Hun- dred Dollars ($800) to the Department of Outside Relief; or act in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to purchase from Mabel R. Thornton with money already in the General Highway Fund, for the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50) a right or easement to construct and maintain a dry well and drain on said Thornton's land situated on Wightman Street in said Chelmsford: or act in relation thereto.
And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies thereof at the Post Offices in the Center of the Town, Soutli Chelmsford, North Chelmsford and West Chelmsford and at the School House East Chelmsford, and at the Golden Cove School House Westlands seven days at least before the time appointed for holding the meeting aforesaid.
Hereof Fail Not, and make return of this Warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of holding the meet- ing aforesaid.
Given under our hands this eleventh day of September in the year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred and Twenty-eight.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING September 20, 1928
At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Chelmsford, qualified to vote in Town affairs, held pursuant to Warrant duly posted, the meeting being held at the upper Town Hall at Chelmsford Centre, Thursday Evening, September 20, 1928, at 7.30 p. m., the following busi- ness was transacted to wit:
The meeting was called to order by Moderator Walter Perham and on a motion by George Day it was voted to waive the reading of the Warrant.
Under Article 1. On a motion made by George Rigby, it was ... that the sum of $1000 be transferred from the Acton Road appropriation made at the Annual Town Meeting in February, to the Outside Relief Account.
Under Article 2. On a motion made by Eliphalet G. Brown, it was voted that the sum of $1000 be transferred from the Acton Road ap- propriation made at the Annual Town Meeting in February, to the Highway General Account.
Under Article 3. On a motion made by Eliphalet G. Brown, it was voted that the sum of $350 be transferred from the Police appropri- ation made in February at the Annual Town Meeting to the Outside Relief Account.
Under Article 4. On a motion made by George Rigby, it was voted that the Town purchase from Mabel R. Thornton with money already in the Highway General Account for the sum of $50 a right or easement to construct and maintain a dry well and drain on said Thornton land situated on Wightman Street in Chelmsford and that . the Selectmen be authorized and empowered to sign any papers to this effect.
Voted to adjourn this meeting at 8.15 p. m.

"Shall the Senator from this district be in- structed to vote for a resolution requesting Congress to take ac- tion for the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment to the Con- stitution of the United States, known as the prohibition amend- ment?"

Attention is called to the following Vital Statistics: It is im- portant that these records shall be correct. If any errors are discov- ered the Town Clerk will deem it a favor to have them reported at once, so that corrections may be made.
