UNDER ARTICLE 21.


On motion made by Edgar P. George to appropriate the sum of Thirty-Four Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-Three and 08/100 ($34,573.08) Dollars for the permanent construction of Stedman St., and to meet said appropriation the sum of $34,573.08 be transferred from the proceeds received from the State under the provisions of Chapter 718 of the Acts of 1956.

UNDER ARTICLE 24.


On motion of Robert F. McAndrew it was voted to authorize the Selectmen to sell or otherwise dispose of the Fire Truck now being used by the Fire Department.


UNDER ARTICLE 25.


On motion of Daniel J. Hart it was voted to raise and appropriate $14,000.00 Dollars for the purchase of a Waste Collection Truck to be used by the Highway Department and to be purchased under the supervision of the Board of Selectmen.


UNDER ARTICLE 26.


In regard to sale of Waste Collection Truck, this Article was dis- missed.


UNDER ARTICLE 27.


On motion of Daniel J. Hart it was voted that the Town transfer the sum of Ten Thousand Five Hundred ($10,500.00) Dollars from the Road Machinery Fund to purchase a Street Sweeper for the High- way Department.


UNDER ARTICLE 28.


On motion of Edgar P. George it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-One Thousand Five Hundred ($21,500.00) Dollars to purchase a Grader for the Highway Department under the super- vision of the Board of Selectmen.


UNDER ARTICLE 29.


In regard to accepting a certain parcel of land devised to the Town under the will of the late Edith Perham, this Article was dismissed.


UNDER ARTICLE 30.


On motion of Robert F. McAndrew it was voted that the Town ap- point a committee of three members to be named by Selectmen, to study and report back to the voters at a subsequent Annual Town Meeting, the advisibility of revising the printed Annual Town Report.


UNDER ARTICLE 31.


On motion of Arthur J. Colmer it was voted to appropriate and transfer from the sale of lots and graves account, the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of beautifying the en- trance to Heart Pond Cemetery in South Chelmsford.


UNDER ARTICLE 32.


On motion of Arthur J. Colmer it was voted to raise and appropri- ate from available funds the sum of Six Hundred Fifty ($650.00) Dollars for the purchase of a Roto-tiller for the purpose of regrading sections where needed.

On motion of Daniel J. Hart it was voted to raise and appropriate $2,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing three 1957 DeLuxe Tudor Police Cruisers to be used by the Police Department.


UNDER ARTICLE 34.


On motion of Daniel J. Hart it was voted to authorize the Board of Selectmen to sell the three 1956 Tudor Chevrolet Police Cruisers which are now being used by the Police Department.


UNDER ARTICLE 35.


On motion of Myles J. Hogan it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of mos- quito control through aerial spraying.


UNDER ARTICLE 36.


On motion by Edward G. Krasnecki regarding authorizing the Se- lectmen and the Selectmen-Town Manager Committee to petition the General Court for the enactment of an act establishing a Selectmen- Town Manager form of government for the Town of Chelmsford as prepared by the Selectmen-Town Manager Committee; after much discussion a hand vote was taken.

On motion of W. B. Batchelder it was voted to change the name of that section of Park Road between Acton Road and Byam Road to Barton Hill Road.


UNDER ARTICLE 40.


On motion of Hans H. Schliebus it was voted to raise and appro- priate the sum of Four Thousand ($4,000.00) Dollars to be used for legal expenses in the handling of eminent domain proceedings arising out of land seizures for high school purposes and that said amount be used either for defense against Court action or settlement negotia- tions.

On motion of Charlotte P. DeWolf and Warren Wright it was voted to appoint a committee to make a study of available business ma- chines suitable to use in transaction of Town business and make recommendations of same at the next Special or Annual Town Meet- ing.


UNDER ARTICLE 42.


On motion made by Thomas W. Sugden regarding the adoption of a By-Law regulating license fee for storing explosives; a hand vote was taken.


61 voted in the affirmative. 92 voted in the negative.

On motion of Joseph Lukas and Edward Baron to see if the Town will adopt the following by-laws:


1. The fee for any license granted to keep, store and sell over five (5) tons of explosives in permanent magazine or magazines, shall be five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).


2. The fee for registrations of the above license shall be one-half the amount of the fee for such license; after much discussion a hand vote was taken.


68 voted in the affirmative.
