GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby re- quested to notify and warn the legal voters of said Chelmsford to meet in their several polling places, viz:
Precinct 1. McFarlin School Cafeteria, Chelmsford Center
Precinct 2. Town Hall, North Chelmsford
Precinct 3. Fire House, West Chelmsford
Precinct 4. School House, East Chelmsford
Precinct 5.

On Monday, the fifth day of March, 1962, being the first Monday in said month, at 10 o'clock A.M., for the following purposes:

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING March 12, 1962
The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Daniel F. Cough- lin, Jr. at 7:43 P.M., who declared a quorum present, more than the prescribed 200 voters.
ARTICLE 1. To hear reports of Town Officers and Committees; or act in relation thereto.
UNDER ARTICLE 1:
The Moderator called for reports of Town Committees.
Mr. Clifford Hartley reported the final completion of the new High School and requested the new High School Committee to be discharged.
Mr. Raymond J. Greenwood moved the nomination of Thomas Mac- Kinnon for Varney Playground Commissioner who was duly elected.
ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Personnel, Wage and Salary Administration By-Law in Section 19 subtitled, "Hours of Work Shall Be As Follows": by striking out the language in para- graph III and inserting "For those occupying positions designated 'Public Safety Occupations' and within the Fire Department, forty-four (44) hours per week; Police Department, an average of forty (40) hours per week, scheduled in such a manner as the Head of such department may deem advisable."
UNDER ARTICLE 2:
Mr. John Kenney moved that the Town vote to amend the Personnel Wage and Salary Administration By-Law in Section 19 subtitled, "Hours of Work Shall Be As Follows", by striking out the language in paragraph III and inserting "For those occupying positions designated 'Public Safety Occupations' and within the Fire Department, forty-four (44) hours per week; Police Department, an average of forty (40) hours per week, scheduled in such a manner as the Head of such department may deem advisable." It was so voted.

a. Employees who have been continuously employed for less than 12 months but more than six months shall be granted one week vacation with pay.
b. Employees who have been continuously employed for less than 10 years but more than one year, shall be granted two weeks vacation with pay.
c. Employees who have been continuously employed for more than 10 years shall be granted three weeks vacation with pay.
d. Vacations shall be granted by the department heads at such times as, in their opinion, will cause the least interference with the per- formance of the regular work of the. departments. Vacations must be taken in the year in which they are due, and shall not accumulate from year to year.
e. In the event of termination of employment which is caused through no fault of the employee, provided the employee has been in the continuous full-time service of the Town for at least one year, or by reason of retirement, the employee, shall be paid, or entitled to time off with pay, based on the scale above, for each full month since the em- ployee's preceding vacation. In the event of the death of an employee, any accrued vacation pay shall be paid to his or her estate.
f. Department heads shall identify all pay for vacations on the payroll in which such pay occurs.
g. Employees who are eligible for vacation under these rules and whose services are terminated by entrance into the armed forces shall be paid an amount equal to the vacation allowance as earned and not

granted, in the vacation year prior to such entrance into the armed forces.
h. An employee shall be granted an additional day of vacation if while on vacation leave a designated Holiday occurs which falls on a normal work day.
UNDER ARTICLE 4:
Mr. Roger W. Boyd moved that the Town vote to amend the Person- nel, Wage and Salary Administration By-Law by striking therefrom the present Section 14 and substituting therefor the following Section: 14. Vacations:
