VOTED that the. Town authorize the Selectmen to dispose of the Rounseville Estate property deeded to the Town either in whole or in part at a fair cash value, as determined by the Board of Selectmen.


Article 16: To see if the Town will vote to appoint a commit- tee to act for the extermination of ragweed and to appropriate a sum of money for same, and to act anything thereon.

Cushman, his heirs and assigns, three hundred thirty-five feet of the easterly end of Bloomfield Avenue in exchange for a deed of Bloomfield Avenue as relocated on accompanying plan entitled "Plan of Bloomfield Avenue and Corinne Parkway," and act any- thing thereon.

Article 20: To see if the Town will vote to accept Corinne Parkway from North Street to Bloomfield Avenue as laid out on a plan entitled "Plan of Bloomfield Avenue and Corinne Park- way," and act anything thereon.

Article 21: To see if the Town will vote to adopt the plumb- ing regulations promulgated and duly published in the Middleboro Gazette by the Board of Selectmen acting in their capacity of Board of Health in accordance with the provisions of Section 13, of Chapter 142 of the General Laws, and act thereon.

Meeting called to order at 7:30 by Moderator Clark. Voted to waive the reading of the Warrant. Voted to recess to 7:45 for lack of quorum. Meeting called again at 7:45. Still no quorum. Voted to adjourn to June 26, 1944 at 7:30 p. m.

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p. m. by Moderator Clark.


Article 1: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from free cash in the Treasury the sum of one hundred ninety-five ($195.52) & 52/100 dollars to provide for increase in salary of gar- ' barge collector as voted by the Board of Selectmen, and act thereon.


VOTED to adopt.


Article 2: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from free cash in the Treasury the sum of two hundred twenty-seven ($227.27) & 27/100 dollars to provide for increase in salary of as- sistant garbage collector as voted by the Board of Selectmen, and act thereon.


VOTED to adopt.


Article 3: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from free cash in the Treasury the sum of five hundred ($500.00) dollars for purchase of dam in Namasket River at Star Mill, so-called, and all rights in connection therewith, for purpose of protecting the fishing pool and conservation of herring in the river, and act there- on.


Voted to adopt.,


Article 4: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of five hundred ($500.00) dollars from free cash in the Treas- ury for repairs to the dam in Namasket River at the Star Mill, so- called, and act thereon.

Article 5: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of four thousand ($4,000.00) dollars from free cash in the Treasury for Highway materials and equipment for maintenance of roads, and act thereon.


VOTED to adopt.


Article 6: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of six hundred thirty-five ($635.00) dollars from free cash in the Treasury to complete the wiring in the Town Hall, and act thereon.


VOTED to adopt.


VOTED that a committee of not less than eleven nor more than twenty-one be appointed by the Moderator to study the needs and to report on the needs for school housing at the next annual Town Meeting. The Moderator under date of August 10th, 1944 announced the appointment of the committee as follows: Fred B. Alger, L. Francis Callan, Charles V. Giberti, Elizabeth T. Goodale, Harriet H. Iseminger, Carl G. Kendall, William J. MacDougall, Romeo Millette, Ralph E. Nourse, Joseph A. Picone, Joseph F. Riley, Man- uel J. Silvia, Virginia C. Smith, George A. Shurtleff Jr., Edward B Thomas, Forest E. Thomas, Frederick S. Weston, Joseph C. Whitcomb, Lorenzo Wood, and Theodore N. Wood.


Article 7: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum not to exceed $75,000.00 from the excess cash in the hands of the Town Treasurer to purchase War Bonds to be used for post war purposes and to authorize the Town Treasurer to purchase and to hold said bonds until maturity or such time as deemed advisable by the Selectmen, and act thereon.


VOTED to appropriate the sum of $74,000.00 from the excess cash in the hands of the Town Treasurer to purchase War Bonds to be used for post war purposes and to authorize the Town Treas- urer to purchase and to hold said bonds until maturity or such time as deemed advisable by the Selectmen.


Article 8: To see if the Town will vote to amend the vote passed under Article 9 in the Warrant for the annual Town Meet- ing held on February 14, 1944 so as to read as follows: "Voted that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars to be used for the maintenance and reconstruction under Chapter 90, said sum to be expended in conjunction with State and County funds, as provided by Chapter 90 and amendments of General Laws," and act thereon.


VOTED to amend the vote passed under Article 9 in the War- rant for the Annual Town Meeting held on February 14, 1944 by striking out the words "Spruce Street" so as to read as follows: "Voted that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of two thou- sand ($2,000.00) dollars to be used for the maintenance and recon- struction under Chapter 90, said sum to be expended in conjunction · with State and County Funds, as provided by Chapter 90 and amendments of General Laws."


Article 9: To see if the Town will vote to amend the vote of February 14, 1944 so that under the Welfare Department the Wel- fare and Infirmary Expense accounts be considered as one ledger item, and act thereon.
