SPECIAL TOWN MEETING October 26, 1950


The meeting was called to order by the Town Clerk at 8 o'clock P.M. who read the warrant. Article one:


Voted: Mr. Amedeo V. Sgarzi, Moderator.


Lacking a quorum present of the four hundred voters necessary, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting until Thursday, November 2, 1950, at 7:30 o'clock P. M.


ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING November 2, 1950


The meeting was called to order by the Moderator.


Article two:


The report of the Board of Selectmen relating to voting precincts was read by the Town Clerk.


Voted: That the Town accept the report as read and to appropriate $1,500 to defray the expense of precinct voting.


Article three:


Voted: That the Town accept Chapter 39, Section 20, of the General Laws relating to precinct voting for all town offices.


Article four:


Unanimously Voted: That the Town raise and appro- priate, transfer from available funds, or borrow in accordance with Chapter 90 of the Acts of 1949 the sum of $43,000 to meet the expenses of the Board of Public

Welfare for the balance of the year 1950, $28,000 of which shall be for General Relief and $15,000 for Aid to De- pendent Children.


Article five:


Unanimously Voted: That the Town raise and appro- priate, transfer from available funds, or borrow in accordance with Chapter 90 of the Acts of 1949 the sum of $2,500 to meet expenses for Veterans' Benefits for the balance of the year 1950.


Article six:


Voted: That the Town raise and appropriate or trans- fer from available funds the sum of $5,000 for Civil Defense, said money to be spent under the direction of the Selectmen.


Article seven:


Voted: That the Town raise and appropriate or trans- fer from available funds the sum of $400 for the purpose of extending the sewer on Prince Street approximately 150 feet.


Total appropriations $52,400.00
