The meeting was called to order by Town Clerk, Henry A. Parker, at eight o'clock P. M.
The warrant was read by the Town Clerk, omitting the read- ing of the articles, as upon motion which was carried, that the reading of the articles be dispensed with.
ARTICLE I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.

Chose Frank P. Bennett, Jr., for Moderator, who, after being duly qualified by the Town Clerk, took charge of the meeting.
Voted, To appoint the Selectmen as appraisers of Town property.
ART. 2. Reports of Committees.
Report of Poor Department Investigating Committee, was read and voted that the report be accepted and that a committee of five citizens be appointed by the Moderator to investigate the advisability of selling the Saugus Home (or Town Farm so called) and report at a future meeting, also that the committee be further empowered to investigate the existence of a will pur- ported to have been made in 1856 and amended in 1863 and to report as to whether provision has been made for the income of same to be paid the poor of the town of Saugus.
The following committee was appointed by the Moderator : Ellery E. Metcalf, Russell Clucas, John W. Hitchings, George I. Hull and John B. Haley.
By unanimous consent of the meeting Chairman Charles E. Light of the Board of Health was permitted to read the follow- ing resolution :
Whereas Dr. George W. Gale, who is now in his 89th year, has again been honored with election to the Board of Health to serve his 30th year : Be it resolved that we in town meeting assembled extend to him our hearty congratulations and best wishes for continued health and happiness. Unanimous vote.
Report of committee as to the advisability of selling the Lincoln School property.
Reported that it does not recommend the sale at this time. Report accepted.
Voted, That the School Investigating Committee be given leave to postpone its report until Article 12 is taken up.
The Moderator appointed and swore in the following persons as tellers : Fred E. Ewart, Harold P. Rice, Nicholas B. Evans, John J. Mccullough, Jr., Timothy Bannon, Henry Robinson, Walter S. Gay and Bertram Westendarp.

Voted, That the sum of $50 for the salary of the Moderator for 1925 be indefinitely postponed, upon request of the Moderator.
Voted, That the sum of $350 be and the same is hereby ap- propriated for the expenses of the Finance Committee.
Voted, That the sum of $1,590 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Selectmen's Department, including salaries of the Selectmen of $900 up to and including December 31, 1925.
Voted, That the sum of $1,050 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Accountant's Department, including the salary of the of the Accountant.
Voted, That the sum of $2, 112.59 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Treasurer's Department, including the salary of the Treasurer of $750.

Voted, That the sum of $500 be and the same is hereby appropriated for Tax Title expenses.
Voted, That the sum of $4,820 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Assessors' Department, including $900, for salaries of the Assessors through December 31, 1925.
Voted, That the sum of $70 be and the same is hereby appro- priated for the Registration of Town Notes.
Voted, That the sum of $550 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Law Department.
Voted, That the sum of $700 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Town Clerk's Department, including $500, for the salary of the Town Clerk and $200 for expenses, and fees received from all sources to be paid to the town.

Voted, That the sum of $2,500, be and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Health Department includ- ing salaries of the Board of Health through December 31, 1925, of $575.
Voted, That the sum of $100 be and the same is hereby appropriated for Vital Statistics.
Voted, That the sum of $800 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the Plumbing Inspector's Department.
Voted, That the sum of $300 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the inspection of Milk and Cattle.
Voted, That the sum of $5,400 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the collection of Ashes and Garbage.
Highway and Bridges
Voted, That the sum of $:8,000 be and the same is hereby appropriated for permanent construction of highways, provided that if the State and County each contribute not less than $8,000 for Walnut and Water streets and $5,000 for Lincoln avenue, $8,000 of the amount hereby appropriated shall be used for con- tinuing the reconstruction of Walnut and Water streets and $10,000 shall be used for continuing the reconstruction of Lincoln avenue but if the State and County fail to contribute said sums the entire $18,000 hereby appropriated shall be used for continuing the reconstruction of Lincoln avenue.

ART. 7. To pay part of notes issued in anticipation of a serial bond issue of $30,000.00 due May 4, 1925.
Voted, That the sum of $17,036.65 which is the amount received as a reimbursement from the County of Essex Tuber- culosis Hospital District and the sum of $6,963.35 from the sur- plus account making a total of $24,000.00, be and the same is hereby appropriated to pay part of the note or notes issued in anticipation of a serial bond issue of $30,000.00 due May 4, 1925.
