SEPT. 7, 1955


The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Paul A. Haley at 8:01 P. M.


The following tellers were appointed and sworn: Donald Flynn and Mr. Taylor.


A count of the members was taken, showing that 29 were present, con- stituting a quorum. The Star Spangled Banner was played. The invocation was given and the Salute to the flag was given.


Attestation was taken from the Town Clerk as to the proper posting and mailing of the warrant.


Article 1. The committee on Cemeteries report was read and accepted as a report of progress.


The Finance Committee report was read and accepted. 8:19 P. M.


Article 2. Voted: That the Town accept a deed of a strip of land fifty (50) feet wide from Essex Street to the site of the new high school, said land being shown on a plan dated August 11, 1955 on file in the office of the Saugus Engineering Department. 8:20 P. M.


Article 3. Voted: That the Town accept a deed of a strip of land forty (40) feet wide from or near the end of Davis Court, so-called, to the site of the new high school, said land being shown on a plan dated August 11, 1955 on file in the office of the Saugus Engineering Department. 8:24 P. M.


Article 4. Voted: To indefinitely postpone. 8:25 P. M.


Article 5. Voted: To table until 9:30 P.M. Yeas 26, Nays 4. 8:29 P.M. Article 6. To the Constables of the Town of Saugus,


Greetings:


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus, quali- fied to vote in Town affairs, to assemble in the Town Hall, on Monday, Oct. 10, 1955, at eight o'clock P. M. to hear and act on the following articles, viz:


Article 1. To hear and act on the reports of committees.


Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to accept Davis Court as laid out by the Selectmen, according to the plan and profile on file in the office of the Town Clerk, and authorize and instruct the Selectmen to purchase or take by eminent domain the necessary land therefor; and appropriate a sum of money for that purpose, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to accept Riverbank Road as laid out by the Selectmen, according to the plan and profile on file in the office of the Town Clerk, and authorize and instruct the Selectmen to pur- chase or take by eminent domain the necessary land therefor; and appro- priate a sum of money for that purpose, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to accept Highland Ave., as laid out by the Selectmen, according to the plan and profile on file in the office of the Town Clerk, and authorize and instruct the Selectmen to purchase or take by eminent domain the necessary land therefor; and appropriate a sum of money for that purpose, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds, a sum of money for the purpose of construct- ing Davis Court, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.


Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds, a sum of money for the purpose of construct- ing Riverbank Road, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.

Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money for the Sewers and Drain- age Account for the completion of drainage work on Crystal Brook, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.

The meeting was called to order at 8:05 by Town Clerk, Ruth E. Stevens in the absence of the Moderator.


Tellers appointed and sworn were Donald Flynn and Arthur Anderson. A count of the members was taken, showing that 29 were present, con- stituting a quorum.


Mr. William Robinson was nominated, elected unanimously as Tem- porary Moderator and sworn by the Town Clerk.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M. by Town Clerk Ruth E. Stevens.


Town Meeting Members not previously qualified were sworn in.


Mr. Donald Flynn and Mr. John DeFronzo were appointed tellers and sworn. A count of the members was taken and 47 members were present, constituting a quorum.
