ADJOURNED ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Tuesday, March 29, 1955
In accordance with the adjournment of Tuesday, May 11, 1954, the Town Meeting Members were called to order at 7:52 P.M., the necessary quorum being present (192).
Rev. Richard T. Broeg offered an Invocation.
The warrant with the return thereon was read by Malcolm F. Maclean, Jr., Town Clerk.
The Town Meeting Members were sworn in by the Town Clerk, Malcolm F. MacLean, Jr.
Voted: To dispense with the reading of Article 1.
Voted : Article 1: To accept the report of the Finance Committee and adopt their recommendations as follows:
That the Job Classification and Wage Scale Committee be continued for further study and referred back to the next Annual Town Meeting. For: 174; Against: 79.
ADJOURNED ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Tuesday, March 29, 1955
In accordance with the adjournment of Monday, March 21, 1955 the Town Meeting Members were called to order at 8:25 P.M., the necessary quorum being present.
The warrant with the return thereon, was read by Malcolm F. Maclean, Jr., Town Clerk.
The Town Meeting Members were sworn in by the Town Clerk, Malcolm F. MacLean, Jr.
Voted : That the reading of the records of the last meeting be omitted.
Voted: Article 2. The report of the By-Law Committee was read, and accepted.
Voted: Article 3. To accept the report of the Finance Committee and adopt their recommendations as follows:
That the Town authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time, in anticipation of the revenue of the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1956, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with Chapter 44 of the General Laws. Unanimous.
Voted: Article 4. To accept the report of the Finance Committee and adopt their recommendations as follows:
That action on this article be indefinitely postponed.
Voted: Article 5. To accept the report of the Finance Committee and adopt their recommendations as follows:
That the Town Meeting authorize the Moderator to appoint a committee of five members, no member of which shall be a Town employee or Town official, to study the amount and nature of all fees now charged and received by all Town departments or offices, the advisability of lowering or raising any or all of said fees within the law, the advisability of establishing salaries in place of fees in those

departments of offices which now retain fees collected, and amount of such salary or salaries which should be established, if any, and to make a report of its findings at the Annual Town Meeting of 1956.

All effective from January 1, 1955. The appropriations necessary to provide for the payment of these rates are recommended in the budgets of the various departments under Article 6.
Voted: Article 8. To accept the report of the Finance Committee and adopt their recommendations as follows:
That the Town authorize the Board of Assessors, the Board of Park Com- missioners and the Planning Board each to appoint a member of such Boards to act as Secretary thereof and that the salary of such incumbents be fixed at $50.00 per year as provided by Section 4A, Chapter 41, General Laws. The appropriations necessary to pay these salaries have been provided for in Article 6.

That the Town purchase one automobile for the Police Department, to be a ranch wagon ambulette, and that the sum of $1,900.00 be appropriated therefor, and that the Selectmen be authorized to sell or trade one patrol car now being used by the Police Department.

That the Town authorize the Board of Selectmen to replace the present street lights on Humphrey Street from the Lynn line to Commonwealth Avenue with new and improved street lights.

That the Town purchase a front-end loader-type of tractor for the use of the Park Department and that the sum of $2,700.00 be appropriated therefor.
