ANNUAL TOWN MEETING.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
NORFOLK. SS. To either of the Constables of the Town of Wey- mouth, in said County. GREETING :-
In the name of said Commonwealth, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid, qualified to vote in elections therein, to meet at the polling places in their respective voting precincts, to wit :-
In precincts numbered One, Three, Five and Six, in the halls of the Fire Engine Houses, located respectively in those precincts : in precinct numbered Two, at Odd Fellows Opera House, and in precinct numbered Four, at the Hose House at Nash's Corner, on Monday, the fifth day of March next, at six o'clock in the fore- noon, then and there to bring in to the Wardens of their several precincts their votes on one ballot, for the following named town officers, to wit :- Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, five Selectmen, five Overseers of the Poor, five Assessors, Collector of Taxes, three Auditors, two School Committee for three years, Park Com- missioner for three years, three Trustees of Tufts Library for three years, Water Commissioner for three years, Commissioner for the Sinking Fund of the High School Loan Bonds for three years, and ten Constables ; and also to vote on the same ballot, " Yes " or " No," upon the question " Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town?" and "Yes" or " No" on the acceptance by the town of Chapter 344, Acts of

1899, " An act to make eight hours a day's work for city and town employees." The polls will be open at six o'clock in the forenoon, and may be closed at one o'clock in the afternoon. You are further required to notify and warn said inhabitants, qualified to vote as aforesaid, to meet at the Skating Rink in Precinct Two, on Monday, the twelfth day of March next, at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, namely :
Article 1. To choose a Moderator for said meeting.
Art. 2. To choose all necessary town officers other than those elected by ballot, viz :- Public Weighers, Surveyors of Wood, Lumber and Bark, two or more Fence Viewers, two or more Field Drivers, one Pound Keeper.
Art. 3. To choose a Tree Warden and determine what com- pensation shall be allowed him.
Art. 4. To hear and act upon the reports of the several boards of town officers, and of any committee appointed at any former meeting, and to choose any committee the town may think proper.
Art. 5. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of public schools.
Art. 6. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the transportation of pupils to and from school.
Art. 7. To see if the town will vote to instruct the School Committe to employ a Superintendent of Schools.
Art. 8. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the repair of highways, townways and bridges, and for the removal of snow.
Art. 9. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of the poor.
Art. 10. To see what sum of money the town will vote to appropriate for the payment of State and Military Aid under the provisions of Chapters 372 and 374 of the Acts of 1899, and for burials, as provided in Chapter 279 of the Acts of 1896, and to .determine how much of the same shall be raised by taxation.
Art. 11. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the relief of disabled soldiers and sea-

men, and the families of disabled soldiers and seamen, under Chapter 447 of the Acts of 1890, and Chapter 570 of the Acts of 1898.
Art. 12. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of the fire department.
Art. 13. On the petition of F. A. Bicknell and others, To see if the town will raise and appropriate of one thousand dollars for the purchase of a hook and ladder truck, to be placed in Ward 1.
Art. 14. On petition of members of Hose No. 7 and others, To see if the town will raise and appropriate the sum of four hundred dollars, or any other sum, for the purpose of placing a tower and addition, on Hose House No. 7.
Art. 15. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for police service.
Art. 16. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the Tufts Library.
Art. 17. At the request of the trustees of Tufts Library in Weymouth, To see if the town will accept the gift of the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars tendered to it by Mr. Amos W. Stet- son through the medium of said trustees, as a perpetual loan, for the benefit of Tufts Library in this town, to constitute a fund to be known as the "Susannah Hunt Stetson Fund," upon the con- dition that the town will issue its promisory note or bond, to him, for said sum, with interest thereon at the rate of four per centum per annum, payable semi-annually, on the first days of January and July of each and every year, (beginning such payments in July of the present year, ) to the trustees of said library, for the purpose of the purchase of books for the uses of said library ; and upon the further condition that whenever said town shall neg- lect for one year to pay interest as aforesaid, the said principal sum shall revert, and become due and payable to said donor, or his legal representative.
