ANNUAL TOWN MEETING.
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant, the annual meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth was held at Odd Fellows Opera House, East Weymouth, on Monday, March 11, 1907, the meeting being called to order at 7 P. M., and the warrant (ex- cepting the several articles) read by the Town Clerk.
Voted, On motion of Hon. Louis A. Cook, to dispense with the reading of the articles of the warrant.
Article 1. Hon. Louis A. Cook was elected Moderator by ballot, the check-list being used in the election, and the oath was administered by the Town Clerk.
Art. 2, Voted, That a committee of five be appointed to nominate all officers not required to be elected by ballot.
The following were appointed on the above committee : Capt. Isaac N. Colby, Charles H. Lovell, H. Walker Pratt, Otis B. Torrey, John J. Loud.
Art. 3. Voted, To accept the reports of the several boards of Town officers as printed, also the following supplementary report of the Selectmen of Expenditures from January 1, 1907 to March 1, 1907.

year beginning January 1, 1907 in anticipation of the collection of taxes, the sum of $140,000.00, (such sum of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the Town, but not ex- ceeding the total tax levy for said year,) giving the notes of the Town therefor, payable within one year after the date thereof. All debts ineurred under the authority of this vote shall be paid from the taxes of the present municipal year.
Art. 5. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $55,500.00 and further appropriate one-half the dog tax, and all receipts from all non-resident pupils for the support of Public Schools.
Previous to taking the above vote the Moderator appointed Messrs Edward W. Hunt and Frederick Humphrey as tellers, and the oath was administered them by the Town Clerk.

Voted, That in event the meeting is not able to finish the several articles of the warrant at 10.20 o'clock P. M., to adjourn at that time to Monday, March 18th inst., at 7.30 o'clock P. M. to the Town Hall.

Voted, To raise and appropriate $200 for 500 chairs and a range, and $125 for tables for the basement of the Town Hall, to be placed in the hands of the building committee.
Art. 6. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $2,000 for the transportation of pupils to and from school.

73 namely ; $50 for the repairing of the highway at the junction of Elm and Pleasant streets; $200 for the grading of Charles street from Edwin Clapp's shop to the corner of Lake street ; $200 for the repairs on Adams place and sidewalk; $300 to gravel Pond street and rebuild any bridges, if necessary, com- mencing at the Abington line in Ward 5; $500 for paving gutter and general repairs of the east side of Putnam street in Ward 2; $400 for the re-grading of Sea street from Newton street to the beach and $500 to gravel Park street and rebuild any bridges, if necessary, commencing at the house of James A. Reed in Ward 5.
Art. 8. Voted, To raise and appropriate $11,000 and further appropriate $2,000 for the support of the poor.
Art. 9. Voted, To raise and appropriate $4600 for the relief of disabled soldiers and seamen and the families of disabled Sol- diers and seamen, under Chapter 79 of the Revised Laws.
Art. 10. Voted, To raise and appropriate $300 and further ap- propriate $9,700 for the payment of state and military aid under the provisions of Chapter 79 of the Revised Laws.
Art. 11. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $6,000 for the support of the fire department.
Art. 12. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $4,200 for police service.
Art. 13. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $2,500 and further appropriate one-half the dog tax, the income from the Susan Hunt Stetson fund and the rentals of the Library Building for the Tufts Library.
Art. 14. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $500 for the maintenance of a public reading room in Fogg Library.
Art. 15. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000 for the abatement and remittance of taxes.
Art. 16. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $6,000 for the payment of interest that may become due the ensuing year.
Art. 17. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,200 for printing and advertising.
Voted, That all printed matter hereafter done for the town of Weymouth shall, so far as it can legally be done, bear the imprint of the Union Label of the Allied Printing Trades.
Art. 18. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $5,000 for miscellaneous expenses of which $2,000 shall be paid to the Town Counsel for past services.

Art. 19. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $7,000 for the payment of Town Officers. The Selectmen, Overseers of the Poor and Board of Health to receive $2,400; the Assessors, $1,300; a sum not exceeding $200 for clerk hire; Town Clerk, $125; Town Treasurer, $450; Auditors, $150; School Com- mittee, $350; Sealer of Weights and Measures, $200; Tree War- den, $100; Town Accountant, $785.
Art. 20. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $700 for election expenses.
Art. 21. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $400 for Memorial Day.
Art. 22. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $700 for rent and care of town offices and for Town House to come up under Article 41.
Art. 23. Voted, to appropriate from the revenue of the water works for the current year the sum of $27,920 to be ex- pended for the following purposes, viz :
$18,920 for interest on the Weymouth Water loan bonds, be- coming due the ensuing year ; $7,300 for Superintendent's salary, maintenance of works and pumping station, and $1,700 for cur- rent expenses, Commissioners' and office expenses.
Art. 24. Voted, To appropriate and direct to be paid to the Trustees of the Sinking Fund out of the income of the water rents for the current year the sum of $9,320 to be set apart and invested as a sinking fund for the payment at maturity of the Weymouth water loan bonds.
Art. 25. Voted, That this article be referred to the Water Commissioners.
Art. 26. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $5,000 for hydrants and for water rents and care of drinking fountains.
Art. 27. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $3,000 to be expended by the Selectmen in the suppression of the gypsy and browntail moths.
Art. 28. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $300 to be expended in the interest of the public health.
Art. 29. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $7,500 for electric lighting and that out of this appropriation and such accumulation of rebates as may be on hand, the electric light committee be and are hereby instructed to provide and install lights to meet the requirements of Articles 68, 69, 70, and 71.

Art. 30. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $50 for the care and maintenance of public parks.
Art. 31. Voted, To ralse and appropriate the sum of $2000 toward the Sinking Fund for the payment at maturity of the High School bonds.
· Art. 32· Voted, That all taxes shall become due and payable on or before the 10th day of October next, and that the Collector be instructed to collect forthwith according to law, all taxes re- maining unpaid after that date with interest at the rate of six per cent. per annum, and the salary of the Collector be six mills on the dollar.
Voted, That the Veteran Firemen's Association have the use of the Town Hall, April 5th, at the actual expense of same.
Art. 33. Voted, To amend the Jurors' List as prepared and posted by the Selectmen by striking out the names of Willis M. Rand, Oscar A. Tower, W. Carlton Barnes, Elmer E. Belcher, Howard H. Joy, Henry C. Jesseman, Harry P. Spear, John Han- ley, Alanson Cushing, George H. Bryant, Frank H. Gunville, James H. Williams, and by changing the name of Arthur C. Blanchard to Arthur L. Blanchard.
Voted, That the list as now amended be accepted.
Art. 34. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $200 for the preservation of shade trees to be expended under the direction of the Tree Warden.
Art. 35. Voted, Unanimously, that the notes which were authorized to be issued by the Treasurer for the loan for the building and furnishing of the new eight room school house in Ward two, at the special town meeting held May 18th, 1906, shall be eight in number, of the denomination of $5,000 each, the first payable on November 1st, 1919, and one on November 1st, in each year thereafter till all mature, with interest at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum, payable semi-annually on May 1st and November 1st in each year at the Town Treasurer's office.
(NOTE - This vote was reconsidered March 25)
Voted, that so much of the vote passed on said May 18th, 1906, as is inconsistent with the above vote, be rescinded.
Art. 36. A motion made under this article in relation to amending the By-Laws of the town, was not carried.

ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING.
The adjourned annual meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth was held at the Town Hall on Monday March 18, 1907 at 7 : 30 o'clock P. M., the meeting being called to order by the Moderator Hon. Louis A. Cook.
Art. 37. Voted, To accept the gift of the late Augustus J. Richards of $5,000, tendered by the administrators of his estate, upon condition that the same shall be known as - Augustus J. Richard's Fund - held exclusively for the benefit of the Tufts Library in Weymouth, invested, and the income therefrom used annually for the purchase of new books for said library. And that the Board of Selectmen tender the family of Mr. Augustus J. Richards the thanks of the Town for their generous gift.
Voted, To take up Article 25.
Voted, To reconsider the vote whereby it was voted to refer this article to the Water Commissioners.
Art. 25. Voted, To appropriate the sum of $5,000.00 for the purpose of making further construction of the Water Works.
Art. 38. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,500. 00 for the final payment upon the steam roller.
Art. 39. Voted, To raise and appropriate $45 for the purpose of having a stone placed in the Cape Cod Pilgrim Memorial, at Provincetown.
Voted, That the Selectmen be instructed to carry the foregoing vote into effect.
Art. 40. No action.
Art. 41. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $2,000 for furnishing the Town Hall, and carrying out the instructions as advised by the State Inspector, under the direction of the building committee.
Art. 42. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,200 for procuring a clock and bell to be placed in the tower of the Town Hall under the direction of the building committee.
