COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.


NORFOLK, SS. To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth, in said County. GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet in the Town Hall on Saturday, the thirtieth day of November, 1912, at three o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to act on the following articles, namely :


Article 1. To choose a Moderator.


Art. 2. On petition of D. M. Easton and fourteen others : To see if the town will accept Chapter 635 of the Acts of the last Legislature, entitled " An act relative to tenement houses in towns."


Art. 3. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $6,000 to meet assessments on account of the Weymouth Fore River Bridge and authorize the Treasurer with the approval of a majority of the Selectmen to borrow said sum.


Art. 4. On petition of W. P. Denbroeder and eighteen others : To see if the town will accept the provisions of Section 37, Chapter 19, of the Revised Laws of Massachusetts in its applica- tion to the police force, thereby placing said force under the rules and regulations of the civil service.


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting a copy thereof attested by you in writing in each of two public places in each voting precinct in said town seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk of said town at or before the time of said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.


Pursuant to the foregoing warrant, a meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Weymouth was held in the Town Hall on Saturday, November 30, 1912, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the meeting being called to order and the warrant read by the Town Clerk.


Article 1. Hon. Louis A. Cook was elected as Moderator and the oath was administered to him by the Town Clerk.


Art. 2. Previous to acting on this article the Moderator ap- pointed Russell B. Worster and Edward W. Hunt as tellers and administered the oath to them.


Voted, To accept Chapter 635 of the Acts of the Legislature for 1912 " An Act relative to tenement houses in town." The result of the vote was Yes 116 No 20.


Art. 3. Voted, unanimously (123 voting yes), That the town appropriate $6,079.23 to meet assessments on account of the Weymouth Fore River Bridge and the treasurer with the approval of a majority of the Selectmen be authorized and directed to bor- row a sum not to exceed $6,000, and to issue five notes of the town therefor, in accordance with Section 13, Chapter 27, R. L. and amendments thereof, with interest payable semi-annually at a rate not to exceod four and one-half per cent per annum ; said notes to be made for the amounts and time following : One for $1,500 to become payable December 2, 1013; one for $1,500 payable December 2, 1914 ; one for $1,000 payable December 2, 1915 ; one for $1,000 payable December 2, 1916 ; one for $1,000 yayable December 2, 1917 ..


Art. 4. Voted, To accept the provisions of Section 37, Chap- ter 19, of the Revised Laws of Massachusetts in its application to the police force, thereby placing said force under the rules and regulations of the civil service. (Yes 66, No 62).
