NORFOLK, SS. To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth in said County, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Wey- mouth aforesaid qualified to vote in Town affairs to meet at the Odd Fellows Opera House, East Weymouth, on Thursday, December 12, 1918, at eight o'clock in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely : -
Article 1. To choose a Moderator.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to contribute the sum of two thousand dollars under the provisions of Chapter 288 of the Acts of 1918 to the Bay State Street Railway Com- pany to enable it to continue the operation of cars on Pleas- ant Street between Iron Hill Street and Columbian Square, and, if so, to determine in what manner the said amount shall be raised, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to contribute the sum of eleven thousand five hundred dollars to the Bay State Street Railway Company to enable it to continue the operation of cars on Front, Main and Columbian Street, and, if so, to determine in what manner said amount shall be raised, or take any action in relation thereto.

Article 4. To see if the Town wishes to take any action in relation to any of the other routes upon which it is proposed to discontinue car service.
Article 5. To see if the Town will accept Chapter 293 of the Acts of 1916, it being the so called "Jitney Act."
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting copies thereof attested by you in writing in two public places in each voting precinct in said Town seven days at least before the time of said meeting.
Herein fail not and make return of the warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk of said Town at or before the time of said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant a meeting of the inhabi- tants of the Town of Weymouth was held at the Odd Fellows Opera House, East Weymouth, on Thursday, December 12, 1918, the meeting being called to order at eight o'clock in the evening and the warrant was read by the Town Clerk.
Article 1. Hon. George L. Barnes was elected as Modera- tor by ballot, and the oath was administered to him by the Town Clerk.
Article 2. Voted, To take up Article 3 in connection with Article 2.
Voted, That it is inexpedient for the Town of Weymouth to contribute any money to the Bay State Street Railway Corporation.
Article 4. Voted, That in the event of the discontinuance of service in Weymouth by the Bay State Street Railway Com- pany, the Board of Selectmen be recommended to revoke the several grants of location under which said company is operat- ing in said Weymouth, and to take such steps as the law will permit towards securing the removal of all rails, poles, wires, appliances, and other equipment from the public streets of said town.
Article 5. "Jitney Act." Voted, That the subject matter of this article be referred to the Planning Board, and they to report to the town at a future meeting.
Voted, To adjourn.
