ARTICLE 8. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construction of:

ARTICLE 9. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to reconstruct resurface. widen, straighten, relocate or work, Pleasant Street and/or any other streets, or any portion of said way and for the building of any bridges, drains and conduits, or securing easements which may be necessary in connection therewith, and to see whether the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept deeds of any reservation strips exising in connection with said street, provided the state, or county, or both, will appropriate a sum of money to help defray the expenses of such work; and transfer from the surplus funds that the Town may have, the county and state share of said cost, the amount of this transfer or reimbursement to be credited to the account from which it came; and will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift, purchase or take by right of emi- nent domain in fee or otherwise for all purposes of a public street and highway in and over said street such property as may be necessary or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 10. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the resurfacing of Green Street, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 11. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the resurfacing of Wey- mouth Landing Parking Area, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 12. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $3,500.00 for the resurfacing of that portion of the public way called Charles Diersch Street (formerly Canterbury Street) which has been previously surfaced and worked by the Town, and for the working and surfacing of that portion of said Charles Diersch Street (formerly Canterbury Street) which was accepted as a public way by the Town Meeting of 1879 and never worked or sur- faced, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 13. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,120.00 for the completion of Seaver Road, from Oliver Road to No. 92 Seaver Road as accepted by Annual Town Meeting of 1952, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 14. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to build a road from entrance on Essex Street to the rear of the Town Hall Annex, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 15. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to finish construction of Gibbons Street or its accepted length (Commercial Street), or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 16. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to construct a side- walk on the southerly side of Pine Street, beginning at Ralph Talbot Street and continuing approximately 1,000 feet east, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 17. (By Direction of Selectmen). To seee if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $25,000.00 for construction of sidewalks and curbing in the sidewalk building program; said money to be under the jurisdiction of the Board of Selectmen, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 18. (On Petition of Residents of Jaffrey Street). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the contsruction of approximately 1,200 feet, more or less, of biack asphalt type sidewalk complete with granite curb and appropriate catch basins. Said sidewalk construction to be located on the west side of Jaffrey Street running south to north from a point near the junction of Jaffrey Street and Old Country Way to a point near the junction of Jaffrey Street and Epping Street. Said sidewalk construction further to run from and in- cluding the property lines of Warren Green et al, to and including the property lines of Raymond Wylie et al, or take any other action in rela- tion thereto.
ARTICLE 19. (On Petition of Mountain View Manor Association Inc., and by Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation or otherwise for the pur- pose of reconstruction of the sidewalks on both sides of Belmont Street from the corner of Summer Street to Number 146 Belmont Street, a distance of approximately 3,500 lineal feet, more or less, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 20. (At Request of Mountain View Manor Association, Incorporated). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation or otherwise for the purpose of reconstruct- ing the sidewalks on both sides of Adorn Street, a distance of approxi- mately 1,600 lineal feet more or less, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 21. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $2,500.00 for the black topping of a sidewalk on the southerly side of Ralph Talbot Street from the junc- tion of Ralph Talbot Street and Park Avenue to the Hingham town line; provided work to be completed only if the State Department of Public Work prepares the area for black top.
ARTICLE 22. (On Petition of Mountain View Manor Association Inc., and by Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation or otherwise for the pur- pose of installing drainage pipe to connect the catch basin located on Adorn Street with the catch basin located at the corner of Belmont and Summer Streets, a distance of approximately 300 feet more or less; and remove the present drainage pipe running from the catch basin on Adorn Street and draining on to the rear of the private property of Robert Foley at 12 Adorn Street, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 23. (At Request of Greenbriar Improvement Association). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate, for the purpose of installing drainage on Town property located at the foot of Sunrise and Doris Drives, Elva, Frank and Julia Roads, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 24. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote for a study, report and plans and specifications for a town wide drainage system or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 25. (On Petition of Mosquito Plain Civic Association and by Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for construction of a retaining wall on the southerly side of Oak Street, wall beginning at the intersection of Oak Street and Pine Street, and ending at 27 Oak Street, a distance of ap- proximately 350 feet; or take any other action in relation thereto.
ZONING
ARTICLE 26. (At Request of Committee on Re-Zoning). To see if the Town will vote to accept a report and ammendments to its Zoning By-Laws, Article X of the Town By-Laws, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 27. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see if the Town will amend its By-Laws by striking out Item 4 of Section VI of Article X of the Zoning By-Laws and inserting in place thereof the following; "Article X, Section VI, Item 4; Lot Size. In a residence district no dwelling shall be erected or maintained except on lots containing 15,000 square feet each and having a frontage of not less than one hun- dred twenty-five feet at the building line and not more than one dwelling shall be erected on each such lot except (a) a lot less than 25,000 square feet and more than 20,000 square feet may be divided into lots containing not less than 10,000 square feet and having a frontage of not less than 100 feet at the building line and (b) if a lot contains more than 25,000 square feet and if after division into as many 15,000 square foot lots as practicable, there remains a lot of 10,000 square feet or more and one dwelling may be erected on such remaining lot provided the same has a frontage of not less than 100 feet. One dwelling may be erected on a lot containing less than 15,000 square feet or having a frontage of less than 100 feet if such a lot was recorded at the time of this By-Law either it separately owned and contains 3,200 square feet and did not at the time of such adoption adjoin other land of the same owner available for use in connection with said lot. Any recorded lot size may be increased sub- ject to approval of the Board of Appeals, or take any other action in re- lation thereto.
ARTICLE 28. (At Request of Abigail Adams Improvement Associa- tion). To see if the Town will vote to amend its Zoning By-Laws and Zoning Map, Article 10 of the Town By-Laws, making the following changes: Change of Districts. From Industrial to Residential, Lot 16, Block 130, Sheet 13 now or formerly the property of Alfred W. Cadman et al, as shown in the Town Atlas, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 29. (At Request of the Chief of Police). To see if the Town will vote to amend the By-Laws of the Town by adding under Article VI the following: No person except an Officer of the law in the performance of his duties, shall enter upon the premises of another or upon any public property with intention of peeping into the windows of a house or other building, or by spying in any manner upon any per- son therein.

ARTICLE 30. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 101 of the Town By-Laws and vote to hold the annual election on the first Monday of March each year and the town meeting on the second Monday, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 31. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see if the Town will amend its By-Laws and vote to adopt a new by-law re- quiring that all new employees, temporary or otherwise, be required to undergo a complete medical examination prior to entrance into the town's service, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 32. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter 623 of the Town By-Laws by adding the following paragraph, "That every officer or board in charge of a department and every committee of the town be instructed to pur- chase all supplies, materials and equipment from industrial and business manufacturers, distributors and merchants located in town when such purchases can be made reasonably" or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 33. (At Request of Personnel Board). To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 4 of Section 409 of the Town By-Laws as fol- lows: By deleting from Item (A) the words ('who shall be the chairman" thus leaving it to read (A) an elected town official and adding to Section 4 the following: The Personnel Board shall elect its own Chairman.
VETERANS
ARTICLE 34. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $400.00 for the expenses of Veterans' Day for 1955, said amount to be expended under the Weymouth Post No. 79 American Legion, Inc., or take any other action in relation thereto.
EDUCATION
ARTICLE 35. (At Request of the School Committee). To see if the Town will vote to transfer to the authority and supervision of the School Committee, to be used for school purposes, a portion of the East Wey- mouth playground approximately three acres in area, in accordance with a plan of the Town Engineer, Russell H. Whiting; or take any other action in relation thereof.
ARTICLE 36. (At Request of the School Committee). To see if the Town will vote that the moderator appoint a committee of four including the Senator and the three Representatives from this District to introduce legislation in the General Court, authorizing the Town of Weymouth to transfer to the authority and supervision of the School Committee, to be used for school purposes, a portion of the East Weymouth playground and more fully described in Article 35, or take any other action in rela- tion thereto.
ARTICLE 37. (At Request of the School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or otherwise, and appropriate, for the purpose of preparing complete drawings and detailed specifications for the construction of a new elementary school in East Weymouth, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 38. (At Request of the Ralph Talbot Street School Build- ing Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or otherwise, and appropriate, for the purpose of raising the sewage disposal field and installing a pump for same, at the Ralph Talbot Street School site, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 39. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to rescind the action of the Special Town Meeting of October 4, 1954, Article 1, by which it purported to provide an additional sum over and above the regular Sewer Department appropriation to construct a sewer to the proposed Ralph Talbot Street School, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 40. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to provide an additional sum over and above the regular Sewer De- partment appropriation to construct a sewer to the Proposed Ralph Tal- bot Street School, said sum to be spent under the direction of the Sewer Department, or take any other action in relation thereto.
SEWER
ARTICLE 41. (At Request of Sewer Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the construc- tion of particular sewers and determine whether the money shall be pro- vided for by taxation, by appropriation from available funds including sewer assessment funds, and by borrowing under authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 42. (At Request of Sewer Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the construc- tion of common sewers and determine whether the money shall be pro- vided by taxation, by appropriation from available funds including sewer assessment funds, and by borrowing under authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, or take any other action in relation thereto.
PROTECTION OF PERSONS AND PROPERTY
ARTICLE 43. (At Request of Tree Warden). To see if the Town will vote to raise or appropriate the sum of $11,000.00 under Chapter 761, Gen. Laws for the Control of Dutch Elm Disease, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 44. (On Petition of Robert Ricker and Others). To see if the Town will appoint a Committee to be comprised of seven members who shall study the desirability of increasing the fluoridation concentra- tion in the town water supply, including the probable expenses which might be involved, and who shall report their findings and make what- ever recommendations they deem appropriate at the next Annual Town Meeting or at any special town meeting prior thereto, or to take any other action at this meeting in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 45. (At Request of Weymouth Housing Authority). To see if the Town will vote to adopt the recommendations of the Weymouth Housing Authority favoring Chapter 667 acts of 1954 (an act to provide for the housing of elderly persons of low income) or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 46. (On Request and by Direction of Selectmen). To see whether or not the Town will authorize the Selectmen to purchase Group Life Insurance on the lives of all permanent employees of the Town as authorized by Sub-Section 44 of Section 5 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws, enter into a Group Life Contract in accordance with said Section 5 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws as amended in 1952 by the insertion of said Sub-Section 44, pay 50 percent of the gross premium for said in- surance as stated therein, make the necessary payroll deductions therefor, or take any other action in relation thereto.
RECREATION
ARTICLE 47. (By Request of the Park Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construction of a playground at the end of Julia Road off Green Street in North Weymouth, Mass., or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 48. (By Request of the Park Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the fur- ther development of the playground at Idlewell, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 49. (By Request of the Park Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the pur- pose of resurfacing and improving the play area and ball field at Brad- ford Hawes Park, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 50. (By Request of the Park Commissioners). To see it the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the im- provement of Great Hill Park, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 51. (By Request of the Park Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a' sum of money for the con- struction of toilet facilities, repairs to the tennis court and for grading at Webb Park, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 52. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see if the Town will vote to accept or reject the establishment of recreation areas on lands adjacent to Whitman's Pond, Wessagusset Beach or other areas to be under the direction and control of the Metropolitan District Commission or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 53. (At Request of the Beach Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for fill and grading at the foot of Woronoco Road, the work to be done under the direction of the Park Department, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 54. (At Request of House Rock Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or otherwise, and appropriate, for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or eminent domain, in fee, parts of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 5, Block 290, Sheets 21 and 22, as appears in the Atlas for the Town of Weymouth for the year 1954, for the purpose of a Right of Way to House Rock Park, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 55. (At Request of Land Taking Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will appropriate to take by purchase, gift or eminent domain in fee, the land at the corner of Neck and Green Street, being shown in the 1954 Town Atlas as Lot 1 and 5, Block 109, on Sheet 8, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 56. (At Request of Land Taking Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will appropriate to take by purchase, gift or eminent domain in fee, the land at the southeast corner of Neck and Green Streets, at the junction of Bridge Street, being shown as Lot 1, Block 110, Sheet 8, and part of Lot 5, Block 15, Sheet 8, in the 1954 Town Atlas, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 57. (At Request of Weymouth Manor Improvement Asso- ciation). To see what money the Town will appropriate to utilize and improve town property adjacent to, or part of, the Homestead School yard, which property is now under School Committee title, so as to pro- vide a natural ice skating area under the supervision and maintenance of the Park Deprtment, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 58. (At Request of John B. Lonergan and Others). To see if the Town will vote to construct and maintain a swimming pool and facilities in the southern half of the town and to appoint a committee of five to select a location and to report back at a future Town Meeting with plans, specifications, estimated cost of construction, and a site, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 59. (At Request of John B. Lonergan and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to be used by the committee appointed under the previous article, to secure plans and specifications of a swimming pool and facilities, or to take any other action in relation thereto.
UNCLASSIFIED
ARTICLE 60. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see if the Town will vote to accept or reject tenure of office to Moth and Tree Superintendent V. Leslie Hebert and other Town Officers or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 61. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to rescind the action of the Special Town Meeting of October 4, 1954, Article 30, by which it purported to accept as a gift, purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee, as a parking area, lands shown on Sheet 4 and 5 of the Town of Weymouth Atlas for the year 1951, and described as Lots 15, 16 and 20 and Parts of Lot 14 in Block 22, containing approximately 78,000 square feet, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 62. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to accept as a gift purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee, as a parking area, the lands shown on Sheets 4 and 5 of the Town of Weymouth Atlas for the year 1954 and being a part of Lot 14 in Block 22 and being shown as Lot A on "Plan of Land in (North) Wey- mouth, Mass., (at the end of Parker and Massasoit Roads) dated Novem- ber 18, 1954, Russell H. Whiting, Registered Land Surveyor North Wey- mouth, Mass." containing 34,000 square feet of land according to said plan, to which plan reference may be had for a more particular descrip- tion, and to see what sum of money the Town will raise and appropriate, or appropriate for such purchase or taking and for the development of said land, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 63. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of draining, filling and surfacing the parking area near Wessagusset Beach at the end of Parker and Massasoit Roads referred to in Article 62 of this Town Meeting, said work to be done under the direction of the Board of Selectmen.
