To see if the town will adopt the following by-law: No department shall grant any increase in wages or salary of any em- ployee of the town unless a proposal therefor shall have been included in the estimate for a budget of such department under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 41, section 59 .- Finance Committee.

Article 32. To see if the town will authorize the Water and Sewer- age Board to construct sewers in the following streets: Main Street from Greenwood Avenue northerly approximately 760 feet; in Pitman Avenue from Greenwood Avenue to Madison Avenue approximately 260 feet; in Madison Avenue from Pitman Avenue to Greenwood Avenue approximately 1,950 feet, and raise and appropriate the sum of $16,767.00 therefor, or authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow said sum and issue the notes or bonds of the town to the amount of $16,767.00, or any other sum in addition to the foregoing sums and to appropriate for the aforesaid purpose the unexpended bal- ance of the 1926 Greenwood Sewer Account .- Water and Sewerage Board.

Voted: That there be raised and appropriated to provide funds for the purposes set forth in Article 32 of this warrant the sum of $15,960 of which $5,960 be raises in the tax levy of the current year and that the sum of $10,000 be borrowed and the Treasurer with the ap- proval of the Selectmen be authorized to borrow said sum of $10,000 and issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, said bonds or notes to be payable $1000 in each of the years 1928 to 1937 inclusive. ARTICLE 28
Article 28. To see if the town will authorize the Water and Sewer- age Board to construct sewers in the following streets: In Melvin Street from Water Street northerly approximately 720 feet thence northerly across private land to New Salem Street approximately 520 feet, thence westerly in New Salem Street to Melvin Street, so-called, approximate- ly 60 feet, thence northwesterly in Melvin Street to Vernon Street, ap- proximately 300 feet. On Vernon Street from the end of the gravity sewer northerly approximately 1,840 feet, in Otis Street from Vernon Street to Rockland Street approximately 300 feet on Rockland Street from Otis Street northerly approximately 400 feet, in Emerald Street from Vernon Street to Pleasant Street approximately 560 feet. On Turn- bull Avenue from Emerald Street to Salem Street approximately 600 feet, and in Melvin Street from Water Street southerly approximately 720 feet, and raise and appropriate the sum of $15,000 therefor, or auth- orize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow said sum and issue the notes or bonds of the town to the amount of $15,000 or any other sum .- Water and Sewerage Board.

That under Article 26 of the warrant for the annual town meeting of March 1927 and in accordance with the recommendations of the spec- ial water committee appointed by the Moderator of said meeting on March 28, 1927, the Town of Wakefield, vote to instruct its Water and Sewerage Board to construct and maintian in the Town of Wakefield what is known as a slow-sand filtration plant on land adjoining the pumping station and owned by the town, and necessary connections and appurtenances thereto and also vote to construct and maintain a stand pipe of 500,000 gallons capacity on Hart's Hill, Wakefield, or such other

elevation as the Water and Sewerage Board and its engineers may deem suitable.
A motion by M. E. S. Clemons that the question be divided was lost.

Voted : That for the purpose of constructing water filters on land north of Crystal Lake and of constructing and erecting a standpipe on land east of Main Street in Hart's Hill Park the treasurer with the ap- proval of the Selectmen is hereby authorized to borrow the sum of $162,500 and to issue .bonds or notes of the town therefor, the said bonds or notes to be payable $9,500 in 1928, $9,000 in 1929 and $8,000 in each of the years 1930 to 1947 inclusive. Unanimous vote.

Voted: That under Article 26 of the warrant for the annual town meeting of March 1927, and in accordance with the recommendation of the special water committee, appointed by the Moderator of said meet- ing on March 28, 1927; the Town of Wakefield vote to instruct its Water and Sewerage Board to install 3,000,000 gallon, high-lift pump- ing unit and connections in the Broadway Pumping Station of the Wakefield Water Department.

Voted: That for the purpose of installing a three million gallon high lift pumping unit in the Broadway pumping station the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen is hereby authorized to borrow the sum of $12,500 and to issue bonds or notes of the town therefor, the said bonds or notes to be payable $3,500 in 1928, $3000 in 1929, and $2000 in each of the years 1930, 1931 and 1932. Unanimous vote.

Voted: That the Water Department is hereby authorized to con- nect the standpipe referred to in Article 2 of the warrant for this meet- ing by water mains of 16 inches or more in diameter from the corner of Sydney Street and Upland Road to Main Street, and for the purpose of constructing the said water mains of 16 inches or more in diameter the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen is hereby authorized to borrow the sum of $10,000 and to issue notes or bonds of the Town therefor, the said notes or bonds to be payable $1000 thereof in each of the years 1928 to 1937 inclusive. ARTICLE 4
Article 4. To see if the town will vote to purchase for a location for a new standpipe lots 47, 48 and 49, as shown on plan dated Novem- ber, 1914, of Harts' Hill Park, C. A. Thayer, Engineer, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor .- Water and Sewerage Board.

To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen or the School Committee to sell the buildings thereon at public sale or private sale and authorize the expenditure of the receipts from the sale of the buildings to build protective fences and grade the lot, or raise and' ap- propriate money to fence and grade the lot or see what the town will do about it .- Charles E.
