ACCEPTANCE OF LAND
ARTICLE 1. Unanimously voted in favor of accepting a deed from the First National Bank of New Bedford, Trustee, under the will of Clara Bennett, to the Town of Fairhaven, recorded in Bristol County S. D. Registry of Deeds, Book 1079, Page 253, conveying to the Town the fee in portions of North Walnut Street, Lafayette Street, Pilgrim Avenue and North Green Street.
CIVIL SERVICE
ARTICLE 2. Unanimous vote (lacking one or two) in favor of accept- ing the provisions of Chapter 23 of the Acts of 1954 which is "an act clarifying the acceptance of the provisions of the Civil Service laws by the Town of Fairhaven".
REGULATIONS ON WIRING
ARTICLE 3. Unanimously voted in favor of adoption of the following regulations as submitted by the Superintendent of Fire Alarm : Electric wiring and equipment in connection with oil burning equipment shall be installed in accordance with the National Electric Code, N.F.P.A. No. 31, effective April 1, 1954.
RADIO and TELEVISION
ARTCLE 4. Unanimously voted in favor of adoption of the following regulations as submitted by the Superintendent of Fire Alarm : Radio equipment and Television equipment shall be installed to conform to Article 810 of the National Elec- tric Code, effective April 1, 1954.
FUNDS FOR COMMITTEE
ARTICLE 5. After much discussion, heavy vote in favor of appropriat- ing $500.00 to be expended for necessary legal and legislative investigation of a plan by which the Town of Fairhaven

might take over the Fairhaven Water Company and the Millicent Library, according to the recommendations of the committee presented to the Special Town Meeting of June 10, 1953.
AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ACT
ARTICLE 6. As the petitioner had withdrawn his petition for change in existing Business District at the south-westerly intersec- tion of Washington and Gelette Road, there was a unani- mous vote in favor of indefinite postponement of this article.
ACCEPTANCE OF HEDGE STREET
ARTICLE 7. After discussion and request of the petitioner that this article be postponed until the following week, it was voted to adjourn this special town meeting until 3 P.M. on Sat- urday, March 20, 1954, to act on this article.
