Voted to raise and appropriate fifteen thousand dollars to acquire land for and construct a school building in the North Village and equip the same, and to authorize the Treasurer to borrow the same and to issue notes of the Town therefor, and to authorize the committee of five appointed at the adjourned Town meeting held April 1, 1916, to be a committee to determine the location of said building and supervise the construction thereof seventy- seven votes in favor, none opposed, said committee were Clarence C. Andrews, Edward D. Perry, J. Willis Andrews, Otis N. Walker and Geo. M. Chase.
Voted to raise and appropriate twenty hundred dollars to macadamize Spring Street from corner of Lincoln Ave. to Taunton line, and a committee of three to consist of E. E. Lincoln, G. M. Chase and G. E. Hathaway be chosen to supervise construction of same, this work to be done under the survey of Highway Commission.
Voted to raise and appropriate twenty-five hundred dollars to macadam and rebuild the bridge over Three Mile River at No. Dighton and the Treasurer be author- ized to borrow the same and issue notes of the Town there- for. Eighty-four votes in favor, none opposed.

Voted that the building of this bridge be done under the supervision of E. E. Lincoln, G. M. Chase and G. E. Hathaway.
Voted to instruct the Selectmen to divide the Town into convenient voting precincts.
Voted to instruct the committee on electricity to apply to the Board of Gas and Electric Light Commission to send an engineer to Dighton to assist the Town in reporting the best and most economical method of pro- curing electric power for lighting streets and houses, and power for commercial purposes, said committee to expend from incidentals an amount not to exceed one hundred dollars.
Voted to raise and appropriate $60 for observance of Memorial Day, to be expended under direction of D. D. Andrews and H. C. Briggs.
Voted to authorize the Treasurer to borrow money in anticipation of revenue to pay Town charges.
Voted to authorize the Selectmen to act as its agent in defending suits at law, employ legal counsel and settle claims against the Town.
Voted the compensation of the Town Treasurer be four hundred dollars per year and of the Tax Collector be one per cent. of commitment of taxes plus the price of their official bonds.
Voted to raise and appropriate $1,800 to be expended in making further investigation as to a water supply in Dighton under the direction of same committee as låst year who were Jos. E. Sears, Dwight F. Lane, Jos. K. Milliken, A. E. Briggs and Geo. B. Glidden.
Voted that the Selectmen be instructed to assist the County Commissioners and Selectmen of Berkley in securing the passage of the bill in the Legislature to repair Dighton and Berkley Bridge.

Voted to postpone Article 5 to the annual Town meet- ing in March, 1918, which was to see if the Town would authorize the Selectmen to make a contract with some private or municipal corporation to furnish electricity, - "Yes," 65; "No," 11.
Also Article 6 was postponed which was to raise money to pay for electricity.
, Voted under Article 7 not to establish a municipal electric plant.
On Article 8 voted not to build and establish an electric distributing transforming system. 32 yeas; 58 no.
Voted to accept Section 178, 179 and 180 of Chapter 102 of the Revised Laws relative to picnic groves.
The report of the special committee regarding- building of schoolhouse at No. Dighton was accepted.
Voted relative to building the school building at No. Dighton be left over to the next town meeting in March.
At the special Town meeting June 22, 1917:

Voted to adjourn to meet at Town House June 26, 1917, at 8 o'clock P. M.
At the adjourned special Town meeting held June 26.
Voted to rescind the vote passed at the Town meeting held June 11, 1917, whereby it was voted to postpone action on building a school building at No. Dighton until the annual Town meeting in March, 1918. "Yes," 57; "No," 48.
Voted to raise and appropriate $5,000 in addition to the sum of $15,000 now already raised and appropriated said sum of $5,000 to be used for the purpose of acquiring land for and the construction and equipment of a school building in the No. Dighton village to be expended by the same committee now authorized to expend the $15,000 in building said school building, the said sum of $5,000 to be paid from the revenue of the current financial year instead of issuing serial notes. Voted to raise and appropriate from this year's revenue $536.37 to pay half the expense of repairing Broad Cove Bridge.

Agreeable to a vote of the Town instructing the Select- men to divide the Town into convenient voting precincts.
We have attended to that duty in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 835, Part of the Acts of 1913 and make the following recommendations:
PRECINCT A.
Beginning at a point on the shores of Taunton River for a corner, thence running Westerly in a line located two hundred feet from the south boundary line of Tremont Street and running parallel therewith to a point two hun- dred feet from the easterly boundary line of Williams Street, for a corner; thence running southerly in a line two hundred feet from the east boundary line of said Williams Street to a point on said street located on a line running westerly as the line curves two hundred feet from the south boundary line of Maple Street; thence westerly on said line to the Rehoboth and Dighton boundary line for a corner; thence northerly and as cardinal points may be with the Rehoboth, Taunton and Dighton boundary line to point on the shore of Taunton River for a corner, thence running southerly by the shores of said river, to the point of beginning containing 143 legal voters.

PRECINCT B.
Beginning at a point on the shore of Taunton River at the southeasterly bound of Precinct A for a corner; thence running westerly as the cardinal points may be in line with the boundary on the southerly side of Pre- cinct A to the Rehoboth boundary line for a corner ; thence southerly with the Rehoboth and Dighton boundary line to a point two hundred feet south of the south boundary line of Wellington Street for a corner; thence easterly and as the cardinal points may be two hundred feet from the south boundary line of Wellington Street to a point two hundred feet from the west side of Williams Street for a corner; thence southerly keeping two hundred feet from the west boundary line of Williams Street, to a point in line with the wall on the south side of the Audry road or path, "so called" for a corner; thence easterly in line with said wall to a point at the west end of Brook Street for a corner; thence south two hundred feet for a corner; thence easterly keeping two hundred feet from the south boundary line of Brook Street crossing Elm Street and continuing the said line to the shore of Taunton River for a corner; thence northerly by the shores of said river to the point of beginning containing 115 votes.
PRECINCT C.
Beginning at a point on the shores of Taunton River at the south east bounds of Precinct B for a corner; thence running south of Brook Street west of Williams Street and south and as the cardinal points may be on Wellington Street to the Rehoboth and Dighton boundary line; thence running southerly and ås the cardinal points may be with the Rehoboth, Swansea, Somerset and Dighton boundary

Voted to accept this report of Selectmen in regard to voting precincts as recorded herewith and adopt the said precincts as laid out by the Selectmen. "Yes," 50 "No," 37.
Voted to raise and appropriate $1,000 to be expended by the public safety committee for the expense of the State Guard Company, said money to be transferred from any unexpended balance to be transferred back to such appropriation to be voted at the annual Town meeting in March, 1918.
