Article 8. To see if the town will vote to appropri- ate the sum of Four Hundred ($400.) Dollars to establish and maintain an Information Bureau, and to authorize the Moderator to appoint three persons to select the location and suitable person to operate the same from May first to October first. Article 38. To see if the town will vote to appro- priate the sum of Two Hundred ($200.) Dollars to resur- face the asphalt sidewalks in Harwichport, where surface is worn.

Article 39. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Hundred ($500.) Dollars to seal-coat sidewalks with oil. By request.

Article 40. To see if the town will vote to harden with bituminous concrete or "hot mix" the sidewalk on the West side of Oak Street in Harwich Center from the corner at Main Street to the Chatham Railroad Crossing and to raise and appropriate a sum of money therefor.
Accepted and adopted and $75.00 or less be spent from the General Road repair appropriation in doing this work using crushed stone and oil or tar binder.
Article 41. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Hundred ($500.) Dollars to con- struct a sidewalk in East Harwich, from or near the corner of "Kendrick Road" ,thence southerly on the East side of the street, as far as the money will go.

To see if the town will vote to instruct the Board of Selectmen to see that the Town spraying ap- paratus shall not be used to do any other work than town work except that after all highways and town-owned prop- erty shall have been sprayed the Selectmen shall be au- thorized to accept at their discretion such private work within the Town of Harwich, as they may consider to be in the public interest.

Article 43. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of One Hundred and Fifty ($150.) Dollars, same to be used for repairs and general overhaul- ing of the two small Town Spraying Machines.

To see if the town will vote that here- after the Moth Superintendent and Tree Warden of the Town of Harwich, shall be elected by vote of the Town, instead of being appointed by the Selectmen, and that the names of all candidates for the said Office shall appear on the Official Ballot of the Town Election for the year 1936, and to act fully thereon.

Article 46. To see if the town will vote that here- after the Superintendent of Streets of the Town of Har-

wich, shall be elected by vote of the Town instead of being appointed by the Selectmen; and that the names of all candidates for the said Office shall appear on the Official Ballot of the Town Election for the year 1936, and to act fully thereon.
Indefinitely postponed after the following motion was lost by 121 against and 101 votes for. "To see if the Town will rescind the vote whereby the Superintedent of Streets is appointed by the Selectmen and that a Highway Sur- veyor be elected by ballot at the next Annual Election".
Article 47. To see if the town will vote to put the Inspector of Plumbing of the Town of Harwich, on an an- nual salary ; the amount of salary to be fixed by the Select- men, with no fee to be paid for Inspection.

Article 48. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to petition the General Court for a release of the Town of Harwich from the State Plumbing Laws as accepted by the Town, so that the town may regulate its Plumbing Laws to conform with what a Town of the size of Harwich needs.

Article 49. To see if the town will vote to make all interest charges on taxes at the same rate of interest the town can hire money, plus one-half of one per cent.

Article 51. To see if the town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to purchase for the sum of Nine Thousand ($,9000.) Dollars from Edward S. Clark, the beach land on the northerly side of Bank St., containing one and seven- eighths acres more or less, and designated as Lot 6 on As- sessor's Plan, for recreation center and public bathing beach, and said purchase price to be paid from surplus funds.
Indefinitely postponed by a rising vote of 187 for and 5 against.
Article 52. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of One Thousand ($1000.) Dollars for improving the bathing beach referred to in Article 51, and that this amount be taken from the surplus fund.

Article 53. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-five Hundred ($2500.) Dol- lars to buy land at the foot of streets leading to the beach from the Dennis line to the Chatham line for public bath- ing purposes, and that the Moderator shall appoint three citizens to act for the town in purchasing such beach land. Indefinitely postponed.
Article 54. To see if the town will vote to accept the layout of Town Ways in Allens Harbor, so-called, with the boundaries and measurements as reported and recom- mended by the Selectmen, under date of Jan. 2, 1935, and - instruct the Selectmen to take by purchase in behalf of the town the land or interest in lands within lines of said layout, to wit :- Wequasset Road from the Lower County Road to Brooks Road, Mirasol Lane from Lower County Road to Wequasset Road, Dunes Road from Brooks Road to Nons Road, and Nons Road almost circular in construction from and returning to Dunes Road; for said town ways, and act fully thereon.

Article 55. To see if the town will vote to rescind the vote of 1930 whereby Three Hundred ($300.) Dollars was appropriated to make the road from Earl Road to Brooks Road passable and that this amount revert back to the town treasury.
Accepted and adopted. It being impossible to carry out the work as voted at a previous meeting.
Article 56. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Hundred ($500.) Dollars to build a concrete wharf and fill in at the Town Landing at Round Cove, Pleasant Bay, East Harwich, and act fully thereon.
Accepted and adopted. $500.00 raised and appro- priated.
Article 57. To see if the town will vote to have the Moderator appoint a committee of three to ascertain cost and feasibility of having a tennis court at Brook's Park.

Article 58. To see if the town will vote to rescind its action under Article (10) Annual Town Meeting, Feb. 6, 1922 and vote to make the Collector of Taxes a separate and distinct office from the office of Town Treasurer and act fully thereon; and fix the salaries for each and act fully thereon.
It was voted to make the Tax Collector a separate and distinct office from that of Treasurer with a yearly sal- ary of $1800.00. That the salary of the Treasurer be $500.00 beginning with their election in 1936.

To see if the town will vote to rescind Article 15 of the proposed By-Laws and substitute there- for the following article: "All elective and appointive of- ficers and committees shall make a written report to the town and such report shall be embodied in the Annual Town Report, excepting such reports as are prohibited by law from being public.

Article 60. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Hundred ($500.) Dollars to raise and repair the approaches to the Herring River Bridge on Lower County Road, this work to come under Chapter 90 of the General Laws, whereby the town pays one-quar- ter, the County one-quarter and the State one-half, total amount Two Thousand ($2000.) Dollars.

Article 61. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twelve Hundred ($1200.) Dollars for repairing and seal-coating Pleasant Lake Avenue, so- called, leading from Harwich Center to the Brewster line, this work to come under Chapter 90 of the General Laws, whereby the town pays one-quarter, the County one-quarter and the State one-half, total amount Forty-eight Hundred ($4800.) Dollars.
Accepted and adopted. $1,200.00 raised and appro- priated.
Article 62. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Four Thousand ($4000.) Dollars to construct the road leading from Orleans to Harwich, com- mencing at the Brewster line and extending toward the village of East Harwich. This work to come under pro- visions of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, whereby 'the

State appropriates Eight Thousand ($8000.) Dollars, the County Four Thousand ($4000.) Dollars and the Town Four Thousand ($4000.) Dollars, total amount Sixteen Thousand ($16,000.) Dollars.

Article 63. To see what action the town will take in disposing of its Herring Fisheries for the year 1935 or for a term of years, and act fully thereon.
Accepted and adopted and Thomas H. Nickerson was selected to auction off the Herring Fisheries. Mrs. Abby R. Thompson of Harwich Port bought the fisheries for $85.00 for a period of five years-the purchaser to pay the expenses of the Herring Committee, not to exceed $200.00 per year, for the first four years of the lease.
Article 64. To see if the town will vote to elect the Moderator by ballot, for one year, in accordance with Sec- tion 14, Chapter 39 of General Laws Tercentenary Edition.
Accepted and adopted.
Article 65. To see if the town will vote for the ap- pointment of a Fish and Game Warden, as provided in Chapter 21, Section 7, of the General Laws of Massachu- setts and raise and appropriate the sum of Two Hundred ($200.) Dollars for the salary of such warden.

Article 66. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Fifteen Hundred ($1500.) Dollars to be expended in connection with E. R. A. work, said money to be spent under the supervision of the Selectmen.

Accepted and adopted. It was voted that $5000.00 be raised and appropriated in 1935 and $95,000.00 borrowed on notes or bonds to mature $5000.00 each year for the next three years and $10,000.00 each year for eight years there- after.
Article 71. To see if the town will vote to elect by ballot a board of water commissioners as set forth in an act of the Massachusetts Legislature, proposed Acts of 1932,

authorizing the Town of Harwich to supply itself and its inhabitants with water.
Accepted and adopted.
Article 72. To see if the town will vote to allow one of its board of water commissioners to serve as superin- tendent of the water department and to receive compensa- tion therefor or to take any action relative thereto.
Accepted and adopted and $1000.00 raised and ap- propriated as a salary for the Superintendent of Water Works.
Article 73. To see if the town will accept additional By-Laws as approved by the By-Law Committee and act fully thereon.
Indefinitely postponed as the Finance Committee be- lieve that any proposed addition or changes in the By-Laws should be published in full in the Warrant.
Article 74. To see if the town will vote to increase the salary of the Selectmen, Overseers of the Poor and As- sessors, and act fully thereon.
Accepted and adopted and the salaries of the Select- men, Overseers of Public Welfare and Assessors were in- creased by $200.00 each for the combined offices.
Article 75. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-five ($25.) Dollars for the expense of an officer finding and disposing of unlicensed dogs, and act fully thereon.

To either of the Constables of the Town of Harwich in said County Greetings :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the Inhabitants of said Town qualified to vote in Elections and Town affairs to meet in Exchange Hall in said Town on Friday evening, December 27, 1935, at Eight O'clock P. M., then and there to act on the following Articles :
Article 1. To choose a Moderator to Act at said meeting.
John H. Paine was elected Moderator and duly sworn into office by the Town Clerk.
Article 2. To see if the Town will accept Chapter 165 of the Acts of the Massachusetts Legislature of 1935 au- thorizing the Town of Harwich to supply itself and its in- habitants with water.
The Finance Committee recommended its acceptance. By unanimous voice vote the article was accepted.
Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of financing the construction of a Water System and authorized and di- rect the Selectmen to accept on behalf of the Town, for use in carrying out such project, a Federal grant of money pursuant to the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act of 1935; and authorize the Selectmen to construct said pro- ject and contract with respect thereto; and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow

such sums as may be necessary to meet any appropriation made; or take any action relative thereto.
