REPORT OF FINANCE COMMITTEE OF TWENTY-ONE
The Finance Committee of Twenty-one submit the following report in two parts; the final report of the 1928-29 committee; and a partial report of the 1929-30 committee.
The committee of 1928-29 began the consideration of the 1929 departmental budget early in January and later after the Warrant for the year closed, to consider all the articles of the Warrant, except matters pertaining to Zoning, and make recommendations in the form of motions upon all of these. These recommendations were printed in book form and were presented to the Town Meeting Members at the Annual Town Meeting. The committee had the fullest cooperation of every Official, Board and Department in the Town and the enormous detail of working out a comprehensive budget totalling about two million and a quarter dollars was greatly facilitated thereby.
The work in our committee was handled by the fol- lowing sub-committees :
