BEST AND

CHEAPEST !

12/38

The Subscriber having been engaged in this business for the last twelve years, in con- nection with his Iron Foundry, will guarantee a better Hoisting Machine for less money than can be produced in this city. Every Merchant and owner of a warehouse will save the expense in a short time, to say nothing of the safety of his goods in being hoisted some sixty or eighty feet above his head I would refer to some of the principal mer- chants in Baltimore and elsewhere, for whom I have put up these Hoisting Machines. The wheels are in use, and can be seen daily at work.

Grand, Square and Upright PIANO FORTES BALTIMORE, MD.

Certificate of Excellence from THALBERG, GOTTSCHALK, SATTER, STRAKOSCH, MUZIO, ANSCHUTZ, and other Leading Artists.

From among the numerous TESTIMONIALS in our possession we select the following :

Messrs. WM. KNABE & Co.,-Gentlemen : I have great pleasure in certifying that I have tried your Square Pianos and find them equal, if not superior, to any in this country. Among the great qualities which distinguish them, is the evenness of tone, the easy and agreeable touch and volume of tone. Wishing you all the success which you so highly de- serve, I am, sirs,

Yours, very truly, S. THALBERG.

TRANSLATED FROM THE FRENCH.

After having played ou the Piano of Messrs. KNABE & Co., it is impossible not to bear testimony to their qualities, which have acquired for them the eminent reputation which they enjoy. The Pianos of their manufacture, on which I have played, are exceedingly re- markable for their qualities of TONE. The Bass is powerful, without harshness, and the up- per notes sweet, clear and harmoniously mellow, (chrystalin) and I do not hesitate to ex- press, in regard to these instruments, my entire satisfaction, and to declare that they are equal, if not superior, to the best manufactured in Europe or in this country by the most celebrated makers.
