INTRODUCTION
This edition of the Alumni Directory of the University of Maine is the second that has been published in the present form. Its purpose is to give, as accurately as possible, the address and occupation of graduates of the University.
The Directory is arranged in three parts. In Part I the names are given chronologically, by classes. The bachelor's degree is then given, followed by the curriculum pursued. Adanced degrees are indicated, and unless otherwise stated the University of Maine is, with some ex- ceptions, the institution granting them. The home or residence address is given; the State is Maine if not otherwise indicated. Then follws the occupation and business address. Part II is a geographic index, and Part III is an alphabetic index.
Much effort has been given to obtain accurate information. Return postcards were sent all alumni and the returns carefully compiled. Fraternity directories and other authorities were consulted, but some could not be traced. A list of those of whom nothing is now known is printed at the end of the Directory. It is requested that any informa- tion concerning them be sent to the university office.
This edition of the Directory has been compiled by Forrest B. Ames, 1913, Secretary to the President.
