G 3 FEET

North End of Deering's Bridge. J. N. Winslow, Treas., J. T. Winslow, Supt.

We desire to call the attention of the public, cities, and corporations to the following report. The figures given is the average pressure upon each square inch of the pipe : OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF SEWERS, CITY HALL, Boston, Sept. 1, 1869. TEST OF PORTLAND DRAIN PIPE.

12 inch, 78 lbs. per sq. inch. 8 inch, 103 lbs. per sq. inch. 4 inch, 225 lbs. per sq. inch.' 10 inch, 120 lbs. per sq. inch. 6 inch, 130 lbs. per sq. inch. Signed, W. H. BRADLEY.

It will be seen by the foregoing report that our Drain Pipe resists a pressure per square inch far greater than any other pipe manufactured, and it is also alike imper- vious to acids or other chemical agencies, and nnaffected by the elements.

Glazed Stone Ware Pipes are used almost exclusively for sewerage purposes by all the large cities in this and foreign countries.

Our Pipes are of extra thickness. Equal to the best English imported. Warranted indestructible. Made from pure Fire Clay, and Glass coated.
