YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.
Established October, 1853. Head Quarters No. 82 Ex- change street, where the Association have a valuable library, which is opened on Saturday evenings.
They have also at the same place a Reading Room furnish- ed with standard newspapers and periodicals.

ODD FELLOWSHIP.
There are three Lodges and two Encampments of Odd Fel- lows having their head quarters in Portland, viz : Maine Lodge, No. 1, Ancient Brothers' Lodge, No. 4, Ligonia Lodge, No. 5, Machigonne Encampment, No. 1, and Eastern Star En- campment, No. 2.
At the annual meeting of the Grand Lodge, August 11, 1857, Maine Lodge reported 259 members, and an invested fund of $5650. Meets at Odd Fellows' Hall, 288 Congress street, every Monday evening.
Ancient Brothers' Lodge, 124 members, and fund $3,800. Meets at Odd Fellows' new Hall, No. 88 Exchange street, ev- ery Wednesday evening.
Ligonia Lodge, 124 members, fund $3,000. Meets at Odd Fellows' new Hall, No. 88 Exchange street, every Saturday evening.
The whole amount of monies received by the Lodges in this city, in 1856-7, was $2,911, 68.
The whole amount of benefits for the same year was $2,106, . which sum was paid to 56 brothers.
