do make this my last Will & Testament : in manner & form following, (that is to say, ) First and Principally I resign my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God, hoping for Salvation through the alone Merits of Jesus Christ, and my Body I desire may be buried at the Discretion of my Executors & Executrixes herein after mentioned. I John Bogs of a place called St Georges in the County of Lincoln & Province of Massachusetts Bay in New England yeoman being very Sick and Weak in Body but of per- fect Mind and Memory Thanks be given unto God ; calling unto mind the Mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament ; That is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the Hand of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial, at the Discretion of my Executors ; nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God.
