BY ELECTION .- Concluded.


By an amendment of the constitution, adopted in 1862, it was provided'that eight regents should be elected in 1863, to enter upon their office in 1864, two for two years, two for four years, two for six years, and two for eight years; and at every election of a justice of the supreme court thereafter there should be elected two regents for eight years. In accordance with this provision, the fol- lowing were elected and the term of their office was determined by lot, accord- ing to law: Act No. 143, Laws of 1863.
