T HIS COMPANY was organized in May, 1918, under the supervision of Captain W. R. Buchda, who has served for twelve years in the Wisconsin National Guard and for six months on the Mexican border.
Uniforms were obtained as soon as the company was recognized by the Minnesota state authorities and regular drills were conducted. At various times the ranks were partially depleted by the draft calls but new members were obtained in an effort to keep the organization up to full strength.
The training received by those men who were in the draft or enlisted into the regular service was of great benefit to them when in regular service and several of them obtained positions as noncommissioned officers as a result of it.
When the Armistice was signed no further need of the organization was felt and it was disbanded a short time later.
