Ayricultural and Mechanical College for the Colored Race .- Located on North Dodson near East Market. Number of pupils last session 155. Prof. J. B. Dudley is President of the College.
Graded Schools .- The graded schools of Greensboro are under the control of Geo. A. Grimsley, Superintendent. The principal of the Lindsay Street Graded School is Prof. S. C. Smith and of the South Greensboro School, Prof. Lee T. Blair. There are also graded schools for the colored people. Looking at the matter from an impartial standpoint we can truthfully say that there is no town of Greensboro's size in the South which furnishes as good educational advantages.
SUBURBS OF GREENSBORO.
Coneville, just North of the city; Jonesboro, just East; Jack- sonville, and a part of Warnersville, Sonthwest, the first built up by the Messrs. Cone; the last three settled mostly by colored people.
RAILROADS.
Greensboro is intersected by the Southern Railway and the Cape Fear and Yadkin Valley Railway and is a terminal point for the Northwestern North Carolina and the North Carolina Railroads.
