The Kenilworth Inn
Opened its Third Season under management of
L. A. KITTREDGE,
on January 16, 1899.
L. A. Kittredge was proprietor of the famous " Antlers" of Colorado Springs. Colorado. for five years. Mr. Kittredge was proprietor of the Paxton Hotel, Omaha, Nebraska, for five years and proprietor of the Leland Hotel. Chicago, Illinois, for three years.
L. A. Kittredge now gives his personal attention to the management of the house, and will be assisted by many of his former employees, which will insure to former patrons those attentions to all details that go to make life pleasant. The reason of his success is due primarily to his having solved the secret of making guests comfortable, and that one fact brings old faces back year after year.
On a beautiful plateau at an elevation of 2,340 feet above the sea level, encircled by mountains, and overlooking the city of Asheville, two miles away, and the beautiful rivers, the French Broad and the Swannanoa, stands the Kenilworth Inn.
It was built in 1892 at a cost of $300,000, and $65.000 were expended in new furnishings and repairs by the present manage- ment. Early in 1897 every hall and room was newly papered. painted and carpeted, and the Inn was furnished throughout with new mahogany, birch and maple chamber sets, chairs and rockers, selected particularly with a view to comfort and design
