Location:


This institution is ideally located at an elevation of about 1,000 feet above sea level: the water is the best and the climate unsurpassed. Winston-Salem is reached by three great systems of railroads and is easily accessible from all parts of the State.


Equipment:


The institution is housed in modern fireproof dormitories and school buildings. In connection with the Normal School there is a model Elementary School for practice. Attention is also called to the following special facilities of the institution :


A library service on a standard basis. Laboratories for chemistry, physics, biology, general science, home economics, and agriculture.


Gymnasium and recreational facilities and well equipped shops for manual training.


Schools and Courses:


A standard Normal School.


A School of Home Economics for the Training of Home Economics Teachers, and an Accredited High School are maintained.


A strong faculty has charge, and the above courses have been so standardized as to lead to State Teachers' Certificates without examination. Courses are offered on the quarter basis, a quarter being a period of twelve weeks.


Expenses :


Tuition free to all pupils.


Board per school month of four weeks, for boys, $14.00; for girls, $13.50.


Laundry per month for boys, $1.50; for girls, 50c. Light, fuel, water for all pupils, each quarter, $8.50. Entrance and athletic fee, when enrolling, $6.00.
