Report on Town History.

We are glad to report that substantial progress has been made during the year on the Town History in several of its departments. A minute record of the progress in this report would consume too much space. We would rather our fellow . citizens would call and personally examine what we have done. In this way one can judge concerning the whole mat- ter, for, as we said last year, "one needs to see the magnitude of the work in order to fairly judge of the time and means required for its accomplishment." It will therefore give us much pleasure to give information relative to any part of the work at any time.

W. H. CHILD, Historian.

Report of the Library Trustees.

The Library Trustees respectfully submit the following brief report :

In making our selection of books, we have endeavored to select only those of standard authors, believing that a less number of books of a higher standard are better than a larger number of cheap works by comparatively unknown authors, and we invite careful attention to our selections of fiction. We have also selected a number of books on various subjects, books which we believe will be of interest to a class of readers who care little for works of fiction. We have also two years of Harper's Magazine with the binder.

The volume Mr. Isaacs, is the gift of Mrs. Emily Huggins. We have also received from friends, The Youth's Companion for 1904. These interesting papers, well adapted to all ages, are accepted believing there may be families of children whose parents feel unable to pay for them, and such can, if they choose, have them to read without cost.

Your committee has spent considerable time in making these selections and trust they will be reasonably satisfactory, and would urge upon the people a greater patronage of the libraries.
