Report of School Board

In rendering our yearly report of our schools we have little that is new to offer but would again urge the parents to visit the schoolroom more frequently, thus knowing just what is being done there instead of depending on what the children say themselves, for we all know, on reflection, that their opinion cannot be wholly fair and unbiased to say the least.

We feel that one great trouble with our schools is the want of cooperation of the parents with the teachers.

We have maintained two schools which have been in session thirty weeks during the year and we feel that the teachers have been faithful and conscientious in their work. Whole number of visitors for the year, 127.

Library Trustees' Report

Our report can differ but little from those of former years.

With the money we have had from the town we have been able to add a number of new books. Mr. Albert Powers of New York gave some magazines to the library and we have had also a box of books sent from the Somer- ville, Mass., public library.

The librarian's report will show the library has been open every Saturday afternoon.

The money was expended nearly equal on East He- bron and road on west side of the lake. $18.50 was paid for gravel to grade the road from the Bristol town line to H. D. Caldwell's cottage and a ledge was blasted out for ditch. Where practicable a hill was cut down and used for grading, notably water tub hill on west side and hill near W. S. Youngman's in East Hebron. Rocks were blasted and dug out of ditches and road bed. The total distance of cutting and grading was 6,486 feet. The amount received from H. D. Caldwell was applied in making a ditch in front of his cottage.

Respectfully submitted,

A. E. MOORE, Chairman Selectmen.
