REPORT OF LIBRARY

We respectfully submit the following report of the Barnstead Free Public Library for the year 1921.

The building was painted outside and a part of the interior last August; a report of the expense appears in another place. The work was done in a credita- ble manner by Albert S. Jenkins and Charles Young.

A waste basket, a greatly needed and much ap- preciated article has been provided. There have been added to the library 90 books through pur- chase and 8 by gift during the last year. Two ladies from Boston who enjoyed the privileges of the li- brary while boarding at the Barnstead Inn each gave a book. Mrs. George Locke donated several, Miss Helen Wentworth brought in a year's numbers of the National Geographic Magazine for the reading table. We are grateful to friends who have thus remembered us.

In selecting books we have tried to provide what seemed to be worth while and we are hopeful that in the end we shall have brought about the reading
