February 20, 1905.

To the Selectmen of the Town of Lancaster, and the Trus- tees of the North Star Masonic Corporation :

I regret to say that the account for the past year shows a deficit. There was a good deal of work on the stage which had to be done this year in order to save the scenery, which was getting in very bad condition, and the grates under the old boiler were not suitable and it was thought advisable to replace them this year with new grates, raising them about a foot from the original position. The work on the stage cost $123.53 and the new grates and labor on the boiler cost $117.22, which two items amount to nearly the amount of the deficit for the past year. At the present time everything seems to be in good condition and I see no immediate need of any such outlay for repairs. It has also been a very quiet winter and the earnings of the building since the first of December have been very small.

Respectfully submitted, F. B. SPAULDING, Manager.
